Liberty Mutual
Insurance Benefits
Liberty Mutual offers a website, called Your Total Rewards, which lets you enroll from your home or other
non-work location. In addition to enrolling, you can use this site to review:
Enrolling before or on your first day of work means that you will receive your health-care identification cards
promptly and you can take immediate advantage of the Companys 401(k) plan matching contributions.
If you dont have access to a computer or to the internet before you begin work, your manager will set aside
time for you on your first day of work.
To Get Started
Log onto: www.yourtotalrewards.com/libertymutual
Important: If you previously worked for Liberty Mutual, please see the section titled
For Returning Employees Only on page 4 for information on logging into the site.

Since you are not yet in Liberty Gateway, Libertys HR Information System, click on the Register as a
New User link within the Alert message.
Enter your ID by entering and reentering your full Social Security Number (SSN) and clicking the
Continue button.
Then Register as a New User by entering:
First Name
Middle Initial
Last Name
Suffix (Sr., Jr., etc.)
Birth Date (mm-dd-yyyy)
Gender*
Hire Date (mm-dd-yyyy)
Pay Basis (Salaried or Hourly)*
Your Benefits Code*
Your Home Address
*For these items, click on the correct circle or radio button on the screen or select the appropriate code
from the drop down menu. After you enter this information, please click Continue. Please refer to your
Acceptance Letter for information needed for registering as a new user (e.g., pay basis, benefits code).
Note: Selecting the incorrect Benefits Code when registering will result in a delay in benefits.
On the Review Your Request screen, please review your personal information. It is very important to
verify your personal information. This ensures that Your Total Rewards shows you the right benefits
options and correct pay deductions. If you need to correct any information, click Change Your Request.
If the information is accurate, click Register as a New User.
After the site accepts your confirmed entries, create your User ID, Password and Hint, which you will use
to access the site going forward.

Next, answer your Security Questions. The answers to these questions let you access the site
immediately if you ever forget your User ID.
The site may then provide you an option to Register This Computer. Select Yes or No.
After you click on the Enroll in Your Benefits link, please follow the enrollment steps on the website.

On the Welcome screen, enter your User ID and Password.* You may be prompted to create a new password
with at least 8 characters. If you left Liberty before User IDs replaced Social Security numbers, please select
create your user ID, located in the top Alert message. Follow the prompts to set up a User ID.
Next, you will see the Home Page screen on the Your Total Rewards website. Click the Review and Take
Action button on the right-side of the screen. On the next screen, under the Savings and Retirement tab, select
the rehire link. This link is located under the overview section. The rehire link takes you directly to your rehire
enrollment link. Then, enter the following information:
After you click Continue, you can review your request, then click the Register as a New User button. Youll
see a Completed Successfully screen. Click Continue to move into the new hire enrollment.

*If you dont remember your User ID or password, click on Forgot User ID or Password. Follow the onsite prompts.
If that doesnt help, call Benefits Express at 1-800-758-4460 for assistance. Representatives are available Monday
through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Eastern time.
If you previously participated in TIP and are rehired on or before the first year anniversary of the date you
left Liberty, your contribution and investment elections will automatically resume as soon as administratively
possible. If you did not have elections in place at the time you left Liberty, you will be automatically enrolled at
6 percent of pay before-tax deductions, which will be invested in TIPs Qualified Default Investment Alternative
(QDIA), which is a Target-Date fund based on the number of years until your age-65 retirement date.
If you are rehired after the first year anniversary of the date you left Liberty, you can enroll by accessing the
Your Total Rewards site. If you dont enroll within the first 30 days, you will automatically be enrolled at 6
percent of pay before-tax deductions, which will be invested in TIPs Qualified Default Investment Alternative
(QDIA), which is the Target-Date fund based on the number of years until an age-65 retirement date.
In both cases, if you are automatically enrolled but do not wish to contribute to TIP, you may request a withdrawal
of your before-tax contributions, including any earnings and losses on those contributions. You must make this
election by calling Benefits Express at 1-800-758-4460 no later than 90 days after the first automatic contribution is
deducted from your pay. Please refer to the TIP summary plan description for additional details.
Click on the Savings and Retirement tab at the top of the screen, then
Youll see that the automatic enrollment elections are shown. To change those contributions and/or investments:
Click Make Changes. Youll also have an opportunity to elect the automatic annual contribution percentage
increase feature.
Enter your contribution election (the percentage of pay you wish to contribute on a before-tax and/or after-tax
basis). Hint: To receive the maximum Company match, you need to contribute at least 6%.
Choose how to invest your contributions and your Company matching contributions among the investment
options. You can view detailed information from Lipper in the 401(k) Savings portion of the site. Click on the
Fund Prospectuses link, then on a fund name for information.
Decide if you want automatic rebalancing this can help maintain your long-term investment strategy.
Once youve made your investment decisions, click Submit. The Completed Successfully screen appears
when youve successfully entered your request.
Note: When making your before-tax contribution election, keep in mind that the annual before-tax limit applies to
all 401(k) plans you may have participated in during the calendar year.
Remember: Youre eligible to participate and receive the Company match immediately. Thats free money from
the Company on top of your savings.
Beneficiary Information
Before you complete your Thrift-Incentive Plan enrollment, make sure you enter your beneficiary information.
Should there be a future change, please update your beneficiary information in a timely manner.
A Provider Lookup online tool allows you to access health plan provider information through a link on the Your
Total Rewards website. Just enter your personalized search criteria and youll see information on network
providers. You may search for a Medical, Dental or Vision Care provider.
Expense Estimators help you estimate appropriate life insurance coverage, and the amount you may elect to
contribute to a Flexible Spending Account.
Liberty Mutual also offers a number of programs designed to help you manage your health check out the
Quick Links on the Your Total Rewards home page. In addition, after your enrollment is processed, you will have
access to a number of sites such as the medical administrators, the Castlight Health cost and quality information
site, the myPersonal Best wellness portal, and the FSA administrator. Visit Your Total Rewards and link out to
these sites for helpful information in managing your health.
Need investment education and advice? Financial Engines can help. This online service can help you make
the most of your TIP savings and other tax-deferred investments. There are two components of Financial
Engines: Online Advice gives eligible employees with a TIP account balance objective, personal and ongoing
recommendations to improve the chance of reaching retirement goals, for no additional fees. Professional
Management is a fee-based service where your TIP account is managed by a Financial Engines professional.

Employees scheduled to work less than 30 hours per week receive no coverage.
Thrift-Incentive Plan
If you are a scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week and you dont make an election in the Thrift-Incentive
Plan (TIP) within the first 30 days from your date of hire, the Company automatically enrolls you with 6 percent of
pay deductions. These deductions are made on a before-tax basis and are invested in the Target-Date investment
option appropriate for an age-65 retirement date.
If you wish to increase or decrease contributions, change the investment election or decline enrollment at this
time, you must visit the site within the first 30 days of employment.
All other eligible employees must complete 1,000 hours within a 12 consecutive month employment period
before they can enroll in the Thrift-Incentive Plan. The Company automatically enrolls you with 6 percent of pay
deductions within 30 days from your eligibility date. These deductions are made on a before-tax basis and are
invested in the Target-Date investment option appropriate for an age-65 retirement date.
Note: If you are automatically enrolled but do not wish to contribute to TIP, you may request a withdrawal of your
before-tax contributions, including any earnings and losses on those contributions. You must make this election by
calling Benefits Express at 1-800-758-4460 no later than 90 days after the first automatic contribution is deducted
from your pay. Please refer to the TIP summary plan description for additional details.
Note: A redemption fee of 2% will be applied to transfers out of International or Emerging Market Funds.

A Final Note
Remember, youll be most likely to have a successful enrollment if you understand the eligibility requirements,
what each plan covers and what it doesnt, and your share of any costs. All of this information is available on the
Your Total Rewards website. While you can change your TIP (401(k) Savings) elections at any time, right now is
the one chance you have, until the next Falls annual enrollment period, to enroll in the Flexible Benefits Program.
The only exception is a change in status, such as marriage or the birth/adoption of a child.
Additionally, the benefits described in this booklet are governed by the provisions of each plan, as described in the
summary plan descriptions available within the Your Total Rewards website.
