The Most Important Features
The following table shows the most important HiPath 3000 features. It provides information on
the meaning these features have for the user, and which internal technical modifications have
taken place.
Feature
Description
OpenStage
OpenStage is a new product family which provides innovative user solutions through intuitively designed functionality and ease of use. The
touch and sensor keys with integrated color LEDs, TouchSlider for volume control, TouchGuide navigation as well as a large swivel graphic
display with background illumination ensure easy and effective operation.
The product family includes:
OpenStage TDM
The models available are OpenStage 10, 20, 40, 60 and 80 TDM.
ISDN numbering
plan (E.164)
New numbering plan for addressing telephone networks which specifies the components of a phone number and how many digits it may
contain.
Improved integration in networks with HiPath 4000, in applications and
in the future with Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSP).
The numbering plan can be configured using Manager E.
Key modules are add-on devices that may be attached to the side of
your telephone. They increase the number of programmable keys per
telephone.
Previously limited to 100, now 250 key modules may be connected to
HiPath 3800 systems.

system. Mobile stations are GSM telephones and telecommuter workplaces. The station has access to system features.
This feature is implemented through DISA. A mobile station is assigned
to a virtual station in the system. In the HiPath 3000 system, all features
are thus mapped to the virtual stations.
Note: To be able to use Mobility Entry via a GSM telephone, you need
to install the HiPath Mobility Client Software. The HiPath Mobility Client
Software is developed and provided by the company Speech Design.
The following website lists the GSM telephones are approved for Mobility Entry: http://www.speech-design.com/en/products/hipath-mobilityclient-software/
It is also possible to download the latest version of the HiPath Mobility
Client Software.

IP networking
A HiPath system can be simultaneously registered at an Internet Telephony Service Provider and be integrated into an IP network.
The systems in the network can also use the SIP numbers for incoming
and outgoing calls. Each extension (TDM, HFA, SIP and H.323 devices)
in the networked system may obtain an MSN/DDI from the Internet telephony service provider or transmits its default station number when
called.

HiPath provides a STUN client for NAT Traversal that works together
with a STUN server at the ITSP. The ITSP is accessed by an external
router connected to the HiPath.
As of HiPath 3000/5000 V7, the node station number of networked systems is entered as follows: Settings | System parameters | Flags. The path "Settings | Lines/
networking | Routes | PABX Number Incoming: PABX number" is no longer possible.
When updating to V7, note that after the customer database conversion, the node
number is entered under Settings | System Parameters | Flags. Otherwise IP networked subsystems can no longer call the CO.

2.1
This document contains brief installation and startup instructions for a HiPath system or network.
It is intended for technically advanced customers who want to perform the initial startup of their
HiPath 3000/5000 IP system themselves, and configure the basic Internet telephony features.
In addition, it is a useful aid for trained service personnel who want a brief overview of the chronological sequence of startup activities.
2.2
HiPath 3000/5000 V7 is a highly scalable communications system designed for both small and
medium-sized companies as well as for extensive enterprise networks. HiPath 3000/5000 V7
is available in a wide range of configurations from straightforward standalone systems with a
small number of stations to centrally administered networks with 64 nodes and up to 2000
workpoint clients (IP and TDM telephones and IP clients). The system architecture avails of the
advantages of distributed systems to spread the load placed on individual components and to
achieve optimal performance.
HiPath 3000/5000 V7 is available in the following three varieties:

This variety is a purely IP-based communication system that is installed on Windows 2003 server PCs and equipped with open architecture. This allows HiPath 5000 PCS V7 to be implemented in various multi-node systems (e.g. together with HiPath 3000 V7 and/or HiPath 4000
V3.0), making possible a wide range of implementation scenarios and customized configurations. System administration is performed with the HiPath 5000 RSM. Central administration can
either run on the HiPath 5000 PCS server or on additional application servers (depending on
the application scenarios and the system configuration).

user-defined basis.
Note:
When loading the system languages, you should first transfer the CDB
to the system, save it, and then change the system languages. A restart is performed automatically following a change to the system languages.

Some features must be licensed before you can use them. For example, these include the use
of more than two B channels, the use of HiPath ComScendo services (additional IP clients such
as optiClient 130 or optiPoint 420), etc.
In this case you must install License Management, including a license agent (CLA), on a PC in
the network. The License Management software is available either on the software CD for
HiPath 3000/5000 V7 or on a separate CD. After installation you can use License Management
to request a license file with the aid of the authorization code or MAC address of the HiPath
3000 Control Board (CB). Details can be found in the License Management Online Help. As
soon as licensing is finished, you receive a license file, which is installed automatically in a subdirectory of the CLA (Customer License Agent). The licensing procedure must be repeated for
each HiPath 3000 system in the network. These files contain all of the data required for the subsequent distribution of the licenses for the features. This distribution of licenses is performed
using HiPath 3000 Manager.
In case of the HiPath 5000 V7 IP system (networked system):
Because there is a HiPath 5000 Server in the network, you only receive a license file for the
HiPath 5000 Server, which contains all licenses for the HiPath 3000 systems belonging to the
network.
>
If the CLA and HiPath 3000 Manager are not on the same PC, the IP address of the
PC on which the CLA is installed can be entered in a configuration file in the
HiPath 3000 Manager directory.
The configuration file (ass_150e.ini - Cla_Host) can be found in the directory
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Siemens\Manager E.
