OBJECTIVES ACCORDING TO THE INVOLVED AREAS

Social studies

To develop identity among spaces and people in different levels, through the
knowledge of their specific cultural and geographical particularities in order to
stablish links of belonging, from local to global.

Music
The student will be able to recognize, understand and use all the music terms that
are required during the implementation of this project.
To know the guitar playing basis.
To play easy guitar melodies.
IMPORTANCE (Why do we work on this project?):
At this level the students will start with the guitar playing basics, and they will be able to
play easy melodies. There are a lot of reasons that support the importance of this activity:
the students will strengthen their self-esteem, improve their fingering agility and their
logic and singing abilities. On the other hand, they will search about a specific repertory
that describes the Ecuadorian reality, in order to strengthen the contents and objectives of
Social Studies.

VALUES AND COMMITMENTS (How are we going to behave and participate

properly?):
Everybody has to be open-minded in order to understand the others points of view.
Everybody has to respect others ideas even if those are wrong.
Everybody has to work with a good attitude.

ACTIVITIES (What are we going to do?):

The students will present the project: I am an Ecuadorian.
The teacher will introduce the instrument through different videos and music.
The students will remember the basics of music.
The students will use their knowledge in the guitar rehearsals.
The students will learn about guitar playing techniques.
The teacher will play elemental exercises in the guitar.
The students will discriminate the difference between melodies and chords.
The students will know how to read a guitar tab.
The students will learn how to play basic chords.
The students will play a simple chords song that has a relation with Ecuador and its
social reality.
