Application for Position of Marketing Manager

Heading
Add the position you are applying for under the salutation. Bold or underline, and centre
the heading.

In response to your advertisement in the South China Morning Post of 2 October, 2015 for a
Marketing Manager, I am writing to outline my experience and the ways in which I could make
a contribution to the further success of your operations.

Move 1: Your reasons for writing

Explain why you are writing: your purpose. If it is in response to an advertised vacancy, say
where and when you saw it advertised. If you are making a speculative enquiry about the
possibility of a job or work experience, be clear about the type of work you are asking for.

In my current role as an Assistant Marketing Manager I have supported the implementation of

branding and marketing plans for clients throughout Asia. In my experience of business
building for some of the top catering companies and corporations in the region, I have created
innovative and effective marketing strategies, which could be applied to increasing your client
base. As can be seen from my CV, my background has also involved undertaking advertising
campaigns for substantial accounts in China and Japan, generating the highest annual
campaign response rate at the DEF Company for two consecutive years since my promotion
to marketing officer.

Move 2: your suitability for the job

Make brief statements about your skills and experience that are relevant to the job
and will interest the employer.
Highlight your strengths with confidence.
Refer to you CV
With a speculative application, think about what you would expect the company to
be looking for given the nature of the opportunity that you are seeking.
Use the letter to expand on information given in the CV, not just to repeat.

I am particularly interested in joining the Ho Kai Foundation because of the company's leading
position in the industry. I also feel that I could develop within the working environment offered
by your company with its stress on in-house research and development. Knowing about your
plan of business expansion to Mainland China over the next two years, I am confident that my
product marketing and brand advertising experience in China would benefit my work at your
company.

Move 3: your choice of company
