The following show the paths of the particles on the same coordinate axes
according the tabulation above
The curve in blue is x1=2 sin t and y1=3 cos t and the curve in red is x2=cos
t -2 and y2=1+ sin t.

Based on the graph above, noted that the paths of the two particles have
two intersection points which are
Intersection point 1: x=-2.00, y=0.00
Intersection point 2: x=-1.46, y=1.84
Based on first tabulation on above, the particles may collide between t=4.6
and t=4.8 because the data is very close at that time. Hence , an
investigation were done .
After investigation ,notice that the particles will collide at the point t=3/2.
The following table show the data of investigation so that the collide point

t 49
Hence the third set of parametric equation is
X=t
, y=1
t49
where t 49
y also can be start with any choice for the parametric equation for y because
there is no restriction of value for y .
x = 49 + ( y -1 )2 , hence y can be any number.
If y = t , hence t will be the first choice of parametric equation .
METHODOLOGY
Application of EXCEL is used to sketch a curve generated by a
pair of parametric equations. The simplest way is to evaluate x and y for
several values of t. Then plot the points x and y in the plane and through
them draw a smooth curve .This idea of plotting points is identical to the
elementary graphing technique of graphing functions . The parametric
equations are x=et and y=t2-1 at the range -2 t 2 where the difference
between two t is 0.2 . After determined the corresponding values
of x and y ,then plotted and drawn these points. Same technique which is
evaluate x1 , y1 ,x2 and y2 for several values of t is used for the parametric
equation x1=2 sin t and y1=3 cos t ,x2=cos t -2 and y2=1+ sin t at the range
0 t 2 where the difference between consecutive t is 0.2.
Converted the Cartesian equation to the parametric equations by
eliminate the parameter from the equations. This will result in an equation
involving only x or y which we may recognize. Substitute x with t into the
t49
and Y = k + 2a t
Cartesian equation
( y k )2 = 4a ( x h ) . However, it have to take into account any restrictions
on the value of the parameter. In this case , added the condition where t
49 so that it would not be square root of negative values .
(0,3) in the plane . In this case, the object is moving around the circle in a
clockwise direction. It takes the object 2 seconds to travel around the circle.
The parametric equations x2=cos t -2 and y2=1+ sin t where 0 t 2
describe an object moving around the unit circle. If t=0, think of the object
as starting its journey at the point (-1,1) in the plane and if t=2
think of the
object ending its journey at (-1,1) in the plane . When two graph drawn in
same plane, the time (t) where x1 = x2 and y1 = y2 indicate that two particles
will collide at that point.
INTRODUCTION
In mathematics(T) coursework, we need to study about the
application of the parametric equation .
Parametric equations of a curve express the Cartesian
coordinates of the points of the curve as functions of a variable, called a
parameter. Parametric representations are generally non-unique, so the
same quantities may be expressed by a number of different
parameterizations. A single parameter is usually represented with the
parameter , while the symbols
and
CONCLUSION
From the result, it is found that there is more than one set of
parametric equation when converted from Cartesian equation into it.
However, some of the parametric equations have some restriction on the
parameter (t). Besides, there are difference between intersection points and
collision point. The intersection point represent the overlapping of the path
way of the moving particles .The collision point represent the point which two
particle impact at one time. The number of the intersection point is not
necessary the same as the number of collision point. Particles will collide at
the point where x1 = x2 and y1 = y2 .In this case , there are two intersection
points and only one collision point.
