Overall responsible for the managing home stead food production
activities for Suaahara Program with technical backstop from the
Agriculture, Food Security and Homestead Food Production (HFP)

activities for quality outcomes
Monitor district level HFP performance on monthly basis against the
district monthly target and compliance to the work-plan
Work with District Agriculture officers and concerned district team to
strengthen technical capacity of Field coordinator , Field supervisors
of PNGO and provide technical assistance as and when necessary
Work with District Agriculture Officer to assess performance of LNGO
on periodic basis to improve performance of the LNGO
Assist Central cluster to coordinate HFP field activities with all project
partners and government line agencies (DOA, DLS)
Support District team in establishing linkages between the district line
agencies, including DDC, Agriculture and health, in order to integrate
the agriculture and nutrition components of the project

Ensure that all HFP field activities are implemented in accordance with
Work-plan (the plan of action) and project timeframe
Work with Regional level offices and districts for small-scale irrigation
systems, vaccination, and other necessary support to HFP
implementation.
Coordinate to compile progress reports, event reports and cases from
districts
Support Ag-Kathmandu team for follow up district activities, preparation
of guidelines and coordination and linkages with DOA, DLS

implementing Homestead Food Production (HFP) activities through
Suaahara Program at district level and work closely with the local
partners, District Coordinator and Cluster Agriculture Coordinator;
Develop and oversee a detailed Plan of Action for HFP and livestock
activities of the project;
Provide technical assistance to local NGOs implementing the HFP
component of the project;
Coordinate HFP field activities with all Suaahara program partners,
including District Agriculture Development Office (DADO) and District
Livestock Service Office (DLSO);
Facilitate linkages between the DADO, DLSO, District Health Office
(DHO) to integrate the agriculture and nutrition component of the
project;
Provide technical support for the establishment of village model farms
and community brooding centres in the Suaahara project area;
Ensure that GESI priorities are fully integrated into all agriculture and
nutrition interventions;
Explore possible small-scale irrigation systems and water harvesting and
management;
Build linkages with water and sanitation in all program areas;
Coordinate and collaborate with district line agencies and facilitate
VDC block grants to support the implementation for the multi-sectoral
food security and nutrition activities.

such as food and nutrition security, disaster (flood, drought), climate
change related issues (mitigation and adoption) in the districts;
develop linkages between the ERCU main office in Kathmandu and
implementing partners in the districts concerning all the logistics,
planning, implementation and follow up activities and supervise the
activities regarding project implementation;
gather information on accessibility to improved inputs (seeds, fertilizer,
small ruminants, technology etc.) of the farmers and supply arrangements in
order to enhance the food production particularly in the remote western part
of Nepal;
collect information on effects and impacts on food security situation
before and after the project intervention also involving non beneficiaries
as the benchmark and based on these information review and finalize
procurement, distribution and logistics plans for inputs (technical and
physical);
assist in drafting technical specifications of proposed inputs to ensure
that they meet FAO and national standards and identify potential source
of inputs for submission for clearance with relevant technical services at
FAO Headquarter;
provide technical backstopping, coordination and linkages with the
concerned agencies;
develop capacity building (training) programs for implementing partners and
other stakeholders especially through Farmer Field Schools (FFS),
demonstration of improved technology such as System of Rice
Intensification (SRI), formation of Local Resource Persons (LRPs) as an
early adopter for innovation of new technology for seed production and
plant protection programs;
monitor and supervise the project activities to keep track of the project
cycle and assist the implementing partners in all M & E aspects;

respond to both normal and unpredictable operational needs, in
