hiva Jataka is the outcome of

dialogue between Lord Shiva and
Goddess Parvathi for the welfare
of the universe. Goddess Parvathi
requests Lord Shiva to brief her the
essence of fructification of yogas. In the
course of explanation, Lord Shiva
mentions special yogas by name
`NAVESH YOGA, `AMATHYA
YOGA and `SAARVABHAUMA
YOGA.

(An honest attempt is made to translate

the devanagari slokas to the correct
meaning in English. Any deviation, if
found, kindly advice)

Goddess Parvathi addressed Lord Shiva: Oh Lord, You are Omniscient, You adorn the Moon.
Kindly explain me in brief about the nectar taken out from the JYOTISMANTHAN (the process
of churning of the jyothis swarupa ocean)

Kindly tell me the essence of the science of astrology and predictions for the benefit of people in this
world, Oh! Compassionate One.

Lord Shiva speaks,
`Oh Goddess, whatever I speak, listen to it with attention. It is mentioned, there are 27
nakshatras and 12 zodiac signs.

It is mentioned, the rashis that are treated as own house, house of debility and exaltation of Surya
(sun) and other planets as also Rahu and Ketu.
(Note: The second line in this sloka also gives the meaning that: ``For Rahu and Ketu all the rasis
are home pitch )

Even though this meaning looks out of place, in the translators thinking, this sloka is structured
with a specific purpose and hidden meaning. )

Based on the birth time given, the astrologer should fix the lagna.
With reference to lagna, the position of all the planets will be well captured.

First asses the life span (of the jataka) and then only one should look at other indications (like
happiness, success, failures ,etc.) of the life of the jataka. Having known the poor longevity,
talking of other events of life is a wasteful act.

The results of a bhava are in accordance with the nature (things attributed) of the bhava and
based on the arc (transcribed) by the bhava. And the complete results are the cumulative effect of
the bhava. The results are spread in order, ascending from start, stable in the middle and
descending to close at the end of bhava, so say the best of thinkers (sages).

The 1st is Lagna bhava, 2nd is finance, 3rd bhava is siblings and the 4th is mother.

5th is trikona and 6th indicate enemy.

Wifes place is 7th and 8th is death.

9th sign is trikona and it is also called the bhava of the father. 10th is karma bhava and then profit
is 11th bhava.

The 12th bhava is known as the place of loss. It is said that among these (12), five bhavas are giver
of sorrows.

11th, 8th, 3rd and 6th, next is 12th bhava.
When yoga occurs in these bhavas those yogas are destroyed.

Four kendra rasi bhavas and trines are auspicious.
When the kendras and konas joins, even the bad turns to auspicious results
(Note: yoga of Kendra and kona lords either with each other or Kendra lord in trikona and or
kona lord in a Kendra give good results, even though they might be malefic)



Sages (who reveal the secrets), have sorted that Kendra are called chaturasra (1st,4th ,7th ,and
10th). In between them, the auspicious are the 10th (karma) and 4th (bandhu) bhava.

Only these two bhavas give special effects. The other two (1st and 7th bhavas) give general
results.

The Laksmi sthana is trines and Vishnu sthana is kendras.
Their coming together, makes the native emperor.

Very strong lagna lord, unaspected by malefic planets, posited in Kendra and aspected by benefic
planets.
All the negative traits are dissolved, fortune smiles, lives long by the formation of `NAVESHA
YOGA.
( Note: the sloka 17 is four sentence unit)

If the lagna lord is with lord of the trine, the native becomes fortunate and very famous. The
native gains an empire, good dharma and long life.

If the lagna lord is with 8th lord, the native is short lived and his wealth is destroyed.
If benefics do not aspect and malefic aspect (the combination of lagna and 8th lord yuti), the
native is short lived .

Weak Moon is with a malefic in 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 8th and if strong Shukra (Venus), Guru
(Jupiter), Budha (Mercury) do not aspect, either the native do not live in peace neither does he
have a long life.

When Rahu occupying lagna is conjunct with lagna lord and moon the jataka is under control of
bhuta grahas.

If such a bhava lord (not only lagna lord but also the bhava where rahu + lagnesha is positedrefers to sloka 21) and 10th lord are in 8th or 11th bhava, or if they are aspected by the 8th or 11th
lords, then death is certain in the dasa of the lord of the bhava where rahu is posited referred at
sloka 21.

When 2nd lord is with trine lord, the native is extremely wealthy, land lord and fortunate. He is
kind, courteous, takes care of many, well educated, build houses and bestowed with happiness.

If the lords of trines are together or aspect each other the native gets lot of richness in their dasas.
This is especially so (being wealthy) if the Kendra bhava lord also aspects or is with them.

One does not obtain the results if the aspect or conjunction is with lords of evil bhavas.

When the Lord of trines join or are aspected by lord of 4th bhava,
the native is blessed with royal riches, well educated, and good vehicles.

He makes his mother happy, cares for relatives,
Makes a happy home and enjoys luxuries and is in complete control of his senses or emotions.

Kendra lord conjoins or is aspected by a trine lord, a yoga called

`AMATHYA YOGA is formed and death in its dasa is predicted.
{The effect of death for native by Kendra and kona lords yuti or aspect may refer to :1. 4th and 5th lords for 5th house 4th house is 12th house (vyaya) trouble for children, second
younger sibling, development etc. by the loss of mother or basic knowledge or property, of
the native.

dharma by the karma of native , etc.,

dharma undergoes loss for / by the karma of native or fathers family or fathers speech of
the native.

9. 10 and 5 lords- 5 house is 8 house ( randra ) from 10th house. i.e. trouble for spouses
mother. Or for father if 10th is taken as father or karma of the native.
10. 5th and 10th lords- for 5th house 10th house is 6th house shatru bhava trouble for children or
development by karma of native, etc.,}
(These combination / aspect of kendra and kona lords causing death is contrary to
sloka 24 wherein richness is predicted. However it is important to understand, both
the sides of the coin )

During the yoga, if the planets are in good dignity (exalted) greater benefits are derived, and in
poor dignity (debilitated) the lesser benefits.


Zyit

Yuti of trine lords forms `SARVABHAUMA YOGA (Yoga for becoming the Emperor). In
such yoga even the son of a servant will become an Emperor.

Su yoga (good yoga) (referring to sarvabhauma yoga ) formed in their bhavas by the lords of trine,
during the dasa of that bhava the native harness great richness.

If the 8th lord joins or aspects the bhava, in the dasa of the bhava lord, the enemies of the king,
grow ( become powerful).

When the 11th lord joins or aspect the 7th bhava and the 7th bhava is conjunct the 8th lord, in the 7th
lord dasa native dies.

2nd lord in debility and aspected by 8th and 11th lords and in case the 7th lord is in similar condition,
death is certain.



Bhavas of relatives shall be determined in the same manner as - Father (9th bhava), Mother (4th
bhava), children (5th bhava). E.g. 9th to 9th is for grandfather and so on.

It is mentioned, 7 planets Sun and others forms yoga and without the conjunction of rahu and ketu,
give the respective yoga results.

The shadow planets Rahu and Ketu, when with benefic planets yields auspicious results and with
malefics yield harmful results.-this is the final opinion of the shastra.

When with a raja yoga planet in the Simha rasi, joined or aspected by Rahu, in the dasa of rahu,
without doubt, the native is deep in sorrow.

Rahu takes away love and ketu improves love (good results).
The learned shall decide the result accordingly by the combination of rahu and ketu with other
planets.




Without the combination of at least one trinal lord development is not possible. With two trinal
lords enhanced benefits is achieved.

In the dasa of the lord of that bhava, enemies do not increase.
(Note: sloka 41 is having 2nd sentence only- incomplete or one missing sentence, and links to trines
combination of sloka 40)

If 8th , 6th , 12th lord is in any bhava or the lord of any bhava aspect / join either the bhava or lord
of 8th , 6th ,12th , then all those bhavas will decay always.

If Rahu is in 2nd bhava and 2nd lord is in 6th bhava,
Then in the rahu dasa, there may be loss of animals, grains and money.

When the lord of the bhava is exalted, that bhava achieves development, And when in debility
achieves destruction.

In the natal chart, if the bhava in which debilitated planets are placed is combined with or aspected
by malefics, then experts say, that during the dasa of that bhava lord the results of that bhava are
destroyed.

Lord Shiva to Devi Parvati The specific bhava yogas are well explained by me. Oh Auspicious lady, tell me, If you want to ask
anything more.

Devi Parvati said,
I salute you, Oh lord (God) of all lords (Gods), who are worshipped in all the universe (Three
lokas).
Kindly explain, in which dasa period will these bhava yogas yield results.

Shri Mahadeva tells,
Listen, oh Devi, you are helpful to the entire universe.
Explains Lord Shiva- The dasas are many. During the period of bhava of quadrants, trines, 8th,
6th, 12th houses.



It is mentioned, among them the dasa of nakshatras are known to be auspicious, where the dasa of
planets forming yoga gives good results.

Intelligent analyze thoroughly the proper strength of the planets
It is mentioned, birth in krittika nakshatra, surya dasa operates.
(Lord Shiva hints at the beginning of dasa of grahas in order to avoid ambiguity)

Good results by the special effect of the yogas are obtained without a doubt (in the dasa of the
grahas), the conjunction or aspect of rahu and ketu also affect the results.

The results based on the strength of rasi lord also is obtained without doubt.
Surya (sun) and Chandra (moon) are kingly planets, and Kuja (mars) planet is minister.

Budha (mercury) planet is for writing, and guru (Jupiter) is for advice (to the king), when
thought, Sukra (venus) is for extreme enjoyment and sani (Saturn) is for highest service1.

Oh goddess, the combination of king and minister planets
gives full results and other planetary raja yogas yields less results2.

In the beginning of the dasa rasi, results will be given by the yoga planets (narendra), Sun and
Mars (dandapathi.)
Guru and Sukra ( mandalapathi ) in the middle, and Moon and Sani (gramapathi) in the end of
the dasa rasi. (budha gives results in the full dasa period)
In the beginning of the rasi and dasa by yoga pathi, mid of the rasi and dasa by the mandalapathi ,
end of the rasi and dasa by the gramapathi , results are given .- this is an additional sloka to
elaborate the meaning of the sloka no 55 and therefore it is not numbered.

If the planet is combust or aspected by rahu, during the dasa of that planet the bhava is destroyed
this is the result as given by the science of jyotish.

This verse will unfortunately be ignored by most. - SA

Bhava lord, and the lord of the akranta rasi (attacked in graha yuddha) if, are in good dignity
(exalted) and aspected by benefics then in the dasa of that bhava definitely the native becomes a
king.

Bhava lord, and the lord of the akranta rasi (attacked in graha yuddha) if, are in poor dignity
(debility), combust or aspected by malefic, then during the dasa (of the lord of the rasi occupied by
the bhavesha) that bhava is destroyed.

Bhava lord, and the lord of the akranta rasi (attacked in graha yuddha) if conjunct Rahu, then
during the dasa (of the lord of the rasi occupied by the bhavesha) of that bhava , death is certain
along with destruction of the bhava.

If, the lord of a bhava aspected by the lord of 8th, is in debility, in its dasa the indications of that
bhava are destroyed without doubt.

In the natal chart, if a planet is in debility and the dispositor of that planet is exalted. In the dasa
of that debilitated planet, the native gets comforts, if benefics, exalted dispositor also aspect that
planet of debility.

In the natal chart, with exalted planet in a rasi (and that rasi lord
is in debility), in the dasa of that exalted planet, the native gets bad results and specially if the
lord of that rasi (wherein exalted planet is posited) aspect the exalted planet.

7th lord in debility in a rasi and aspected by 8th lord.
During the dasa of the rasi lord (wherein 7th lord is posited) death certainly happens.

The lord of evil houses, if joins yoga karaka planets,
Then dasa of lord of evil houses cause death and destroys all expected results of yoga activator.

The lord of benefic houses, combined or aspected by malefics,
During the dasa of lord of benefic houses, death and loss of kingdom is certain.

Yogas are of two types: 1.by aspect, 2. by conjunction. Between the two the malefic aspect gives
greater adverse results.

The yuti of benefics gives best results, says the learned who know the science.
Death during childhood is of many type, in this loka (life), says astrologer.

I will explain such yogas. Listen to it attentively.

If the lagna lord is with 8th lord, during the dasa of lord of lagna or 3rd or 8th, and 2nd or 7th, or 11th
death is certain.

During the dasa of lord of the planets (2nd ,3rd ,7th ,8th ,11th ) death occur. If benefics conjoins those
planets, longevity increases.

Infants are very badly affected, even with little blemish.
During the other period in life of native, the little blemish are reflected as diseases.
