INTRODUCTION

In order of explaining which methods have been used to collect data and why and which
limitations we have met during our research process, will we at first describe the type of
theory or methodology of which the research will be carried out. To explain the methodology
used to conduct this report we will be going through the model of the onion. but we will not
describe all the theory and models in this synopsis.
MY OPINION TOWARDS METHODOLOGY
In the area of research approach I would prefer to be more inductive than deductive, I love to
collect fact and figure about the company financial highlights and then only I would like to
put them into theory, tools and models. first data and then theory will be more reliable in my
consideration it will be more systematic like( first input - process- and output) and then
only process forward to abduction
In the data collection we have used only secondary data that was provided to us by teachers
and through net, but to me more concrete and scientific I would like to use primary data
directly from employee and company groups member but due to short time horizon I was
unsuccessful to collect those primary data and then only I will love to make triangulation
between secondary and primary data.
About the question of knowledge we group had used epistemology and we have used
realism between positivism and interpritivisum

but I would like to me more

interpritivisum to know how ,why and whom the ROPOX is established to analysis this I
prefer to visit the company to explore the exact nature but only finding in net is not sufficient.
Following this fact I would be more subjective and visit to the field and arise the
questionnaires to the responsible bodies of the company distinguishing according to level of
working bodies. The question would be more subjective depending on the reliabilities,
outcome of the questionnaires would be more interpretive and valid.
our methodological choice in report is mono methods only information provided by teacher
but I will prefer to be more multiple methods I would have liked to have had the time and
opportunity to contact for example employees of ROPOX for primary data and other useful
information about consumer buying behavior, customer relationship management and their
preference but according to the very short time frame this will not be possible. So our

methodological choice cannot be one of the multiple methods since we only use one type of
technique for collecting data so I would prefer to adopt multiple methods.
I prefer to do survey regarding the customer but due to time and appropriate environment we
did not do any type of survey.
GROUP MEMBERS METHODOLOGY
Philosophy of science
Epistemology
Epistemology is the study of the nature and scope of knowledge. it question what knowledge
is, how it acquired. In order of conducting this report the epistemological or philosophic
position of realism will be applied. Realism is on the continuum between Positivism and
Interpretivism as the extremities. Positivism being natural science(or what is observable) and
interpretivism (or social science being that phenomenon only is present when talked enough
about -said in other words; socially constructed) . Realism is a triangulation of the extremities
and therefore to some extent positivistic and to some extent interpretivistic. But Realism is
more of a positivistic philosophy because of its scientific approach or acceptance of
knowledge. According to that; Realism would be identified more as a natural science favoring
a more objectivistic approach. . It is however very difficult or maybe even impossible to be
objective during an entire phase of research or conducting a report and therefore we have
taken a road somewhere in between Positivism and Interpretivism The more specific position
of realism in this report is the philosophical position of direct realism. In very short term;
What you see is what you get.
Ontology
The ontological position throughout our report will be switching between objectivism and
subjectivism because it will not be possible for us staying completely objective or subjective.
In some cases we might even believe ourselves that we are being totally objective without
being so if you look really careful. This could for example be because of the values of words
used to explain something and these words might have other values and even subjective
values for others.(yo example of interprtivisum ho tutor ly sode interpretivisim vanu)

Research Approach
Our approach of researching and conducting this report will be a triangulation of the
deductive and the inductive approach. Deduction meaning that research would be starting
with the theory/model/tool and then finding data suitable to be put into this. And induction
meaning the opposite; research starts by collecting data and then finding a theory/model/tool
that fits the patterns found. Said in another way the theory/model/tool is a result of the
experienced data and could also be called an abstracted framework.
The triangulation of deduction and Induction is called abduction and combines the two
research approaches becoming a research approach itself. In other words when we use the
research approach of abduction we are moving back and forth from theory to data and vice
versa.
Methodological Choice
The methodological choice for conducting the report have to be the mono method because we
will only be searching for data in the material being handed out to us by our fine teachers,
data found in the homepage of ROPOX and elsewhere in the internet. We would have liked
to have had the time and opportunity to contact for example employees of ROPOX for
primary data but according to the very short time frame we have this will not be possible. So
our methodological choice cannot be one of the multiple methods since we only use one type
of technique for collecting data. The data we are examining is a triangulation between
qualitative (or non-numerical) data and quantitative (or numerical) data.
Research Designs
Research Strategy
Our research will be conducted according to the research strategy of case study. We will be
looking at the out handed material and the internet for data to be used in our answering of the
problem formulation. And the data found will be both quantitative and qualitative. Only two
of the eight research strategies can have the involving of quantitative, qualitative research
designs or a combination. Case study is one of those two strategies the other is the archival
research strategy. Archival research strategy is an analysis of administrative records and
documents as the primary source of data. And the case study is a research strategy of
experienced data.
3

Time horizon- Time to collect data will be cross sectional since we got only couple of weak.
Methods or Techniques and procedures
The collection of data found in our research will be put into the different internal and external
models or tools which we have chosen, to be able to answer our problem formulation. The
tools chosen will be explained in the two following paragraphs.
Internal tools
The Business Model Canvas (BMC) is a highly subjective model developed by Alexander
Osterwalder and is conducted in order of stating how the company of ROPOX is spending
money and earning it. Financial tools of different ratios will be conducted for an analysis and
giving a clear view of the financial state ROPOX is in. If there should be enough money in
the company for example to make substantial investments for the purpose of differentiation
from the competitors of the company. The marketing mix also called the 4 Ps is chosen to
describe the products ROPOX manufactures.
External tools
Micro analysis
Customer analysis is conducted for the purpose of understanding their needs, brand loyalty,
degree of satisfaction and future demands. Competitor analysis conducted in order of finding
advantages and areas of which ROPOX can differentiate. The tool of Porters five forces
developed by Michael Porter is conducted to make a description of the marketplace ROPOX
is in.
Macro analysis
The PEST analysis model is an external analysis which will be conducted for the purpose of
viewing the known present and future changes in opportunities or treats in the marketplace of
which the company is maneuvering.
Conclusion and recommendation
All of the tools will be analyzed and the findings will be used to conduct a SWOT analysis.
The SWOT will be analyzed in order of making a use of the opportunities and strong sides
and avoidance of the weaknesses and threats.

I wish to Start questions for Examination

Since I have given the opportunities to find a starting point for questions in the examination, I
would like to thanks my lecturer Mr. Michael Bager for giving me opportunities to start from
the questions which I feel comfortable. I would like to start questions from Ontology, types of
data , epistemology and so on
Conclusion
Synopsis is based on according to layers of onion methods we used in our this research
paper. My own methodology reflect my actual knowledge how I will prefer to write the
methodology if I have to done this research alone being a part from group members.
