Concept & The Practice

Introduction
There is no future in the mere act of dispensing

Pharmacists should start serving public by providing care


To provide this care
1) Pharmacists should have an academic training
2) Legislations should exist

Then, pharmacist can act as health care professionals, and

community in a better way than they currently do

The Paradigm Shift

Forty years ago, pharmacy practice was merely


dispensing/compounding
Nowadays, pharmacy practice includes patient care

Patient care provided by the pharmacist is Pharmaceutical Care

The aim of pharmaceutical care is to ensure that the
