General Instructions
1. All questions are compulsory. There are 26 questions in all.
2. This question paper has five sections: Section A, Section B, Section C, Section D and
Section E.
3. Section A contains five questions of one mark each, Section B contains five questions of
two marks each, Section C contains twelve questions of three marks each, Section D contains
one value based question of four marks and Section E contains three questions of five marks
each.
4. There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided in one question
of two marks, one question of three marks and all the three questions of five marks
weightage. You have to attempt only one of the choices in such questions.

above the surface of the earth. Find the mathematical expressions of (i) orbital
speed and (ii) total energy of the satellite? What is the significance of negative sign
in the expression of total energy of the satellite?

refrigerator?.

A woman pushes a trunk on a railway platform which has a rough surface. She 3
applies a force of 100N over a distance of 10m. Thereafter she gets progressively
tired and her applied force reduces linearly with distance to 50N. The total distance
by which the trunk has been moved is 20m. Plot the force applied by the woman
and the frictional force, which is 50N. Calculate the work done by two forces over
20m.

beats of frequency 6Hz. The tension in the string A is slightly reduced and the beat
frequency is found to reduce to 3 Hz. If the original frequency of A is 324 Hz, what

direction.
