Name: Ambos Mundos


Ambos Mundos is one of the oldest restaurants in Santa Cruz, Manila area. The restaurant
was founded in 1888 making it one of the oldest still existing in Manila. Ambos Mundos refers
only to Filipino and Spanish dishes to agree with the English translation of Two Worlds or Both
Worlds.

Ambos Mundos offers Filipino and Spanish dishes. One of the fave is their Lumpiang
Shanghai ala Ambos Mundos for its meatiness and also a perfect combination to their chili paste,
matching calamansi (local citrus fruit) and a little bit of soy sauce.

Name: New Toho Restaurant
New Toho Restaurant is currently the oldest restaurant in Manilathat If Travel Time
host Susan Calo Medina is to be believed, Rizal even ate here while he studying in Intramuros.
In 1984, the original Toho establishment burned down after its neighboring restaurant caught
fire. The restaurant was eventually rebuilt along, hence the new in New Toho.

Toho restaurant offers traditional Chinese dishes such as one of the favorites Pancit
Canton and Lumpiang Shanghai. The restaurants secret to longevity is their foods consistency.
People who have eaten in Toho are guaranteed the same taste even after decades.

Its easy to understand why New Toho lasted as long as it has; its no non-sense good
Chinese food. One may eat in a different day or year but if the owners words are certain, the

Name: Ilang- Ilang Restaurant
Ilang-ilang restaurant is one of the oldest restaurants in town that serves authentic
Chinese cuisines. It was established in 1910. At first, it was started as a panciteria and grown into
a fulltime restaurant with complete catering services.
Type of products or service:
Ilang-ilang restaurant offers various catering services. One can choose from lauriat,
buffet, cocktail, and packed meals or vegetarian foods. They also deliver fresh hot newly cooked
authentic Chinese dishes to homes/offices. All the meals are individually cooked upon order to
guarantee its freshness and taste.

Their prices range from Php 95.00 to Php 168.00 only for its packed meal.(Prices are

In terms of quality its reliability and inexpensive yet delicious food is considered.

The major strengths of our competitors are (1): They are already known in the field of
Shanghai Industry; (2) They have already established a good location since their businesses is in
the heart of busy areas. (3) They have enough capital to engage in price war.
On the other hand, we also serve the major weaknesses of our competitors: (1) since most
of their equipment is in old style, the tendency is that it may not be as efficient as modern
equipment does. (2) Because of high demand, the tendency is that they tend to forget what their
purpose why they put up the kind of business they belong, just doing their stuffs to meet the
customers need without an important factor -passion. (3) In terms of sanitation aspect, there may
be an unhealthy working environment due to meeting immediate response to the customer needs.
Given this information, we can improve our business in the following ways, (1) Producing
high quality and nutritious shanghai for the public especially for PUP students through the use of
modern equipment; (2) Always rely on our purpose why we put up this kind of business when it
