2. Our file regarding the widow and the
daughter of Shri Subash Chandra Bose is placed below
and some papers have been flagged at random.
3. A cursorY glance of the file reveal the
follbwing facts in spite of the fact that certain
doubts have been raised from time to time:
a)It had been acknowledged that Frau Emilie Schenkl
was the widow of Subash Chandra Bose and Anita Schenl,
..1
his daughter.
b)The family members of Subash Chandra Bose had also
accepted this.
c)Anita Bose visited India in 1960 and was staying
in the Prime Minister's House for some time.
MAICC had been sending hs.6000/- per xx annum to
Netajil s daughter upto 1364; this was stopped in l965
when she got married.
'e)Netaji ls wife did not want any money.
f)Anita married Mr Martin Pfaff, an American national.
4. If approved, we may convey these facts to
the Ministry of Uwe Affairs.

Reference enclosed copy of letter dated 1-9-79 and
of its enclosures, from Shri T.N.Singh, Governor of West
jEengal, addressed to the Bbme Secretary, regarding establishment of identity of Nrs. ANITA F.F 13T (daughter of Netaji
Subhash Chandra Bose).
2.
This Ninistry have no records pertaining to Netaji's
,reported marriage to a foreign lady or birth of a female
child by that marriage. Intelligence Bureau has also been
consulted and they have no record in this regard. Before
sending a reply to the Governor on the above lines, this
inistry Yould like to be sure whether at any stage the
then Prime Ninister's Secretariat (now Prime Einister's
k Office) or the Ninistrv of External ffairs or the Cabinet
Secretariat (R.A.W.) have been aware of visit to India of
Eiss Anita in 1960 and information supplied in this connection
or if there are anv papers to indicate Netajils reported
marziage to a foreign lady and birth of a female child by
that marriage. We shall be grateful to have an urgent reply

have cordially received Nrs. Anita Pfaff, the so called
daughter of Netaji Bose. You have been miscarried by cheap
sen ti me nt , be ca use y ou d o, n ot hn ow t he b ac k -gr ou nd o f th is
canard as well as the character of Bose family of the day.
You are a freedom fighter and I being an executive
member of All India Freedom Fighter's Samity (Regd.) it is my
duty to bring you into light to establish the truth. The said
- girl is a posthumous child of one Co.Erizette of the then Asix
Power. her mother Lrs. Erizette died after a few months of
delivery. Liss Emdie Shenkle was intimate friend and close
-d o o r n e i g h b o u r t o t h i s E r i z e t t e f a m i l y a n d s h e t o o k u p t h e
orphan as adotped daughter.

A conspiracy duly hatched up by

th e A l l i e s in C o l a b o r a t io n w i t h P r o - B r i t i s h C o ng r e s s m e n t o
assasin the thus character of ardent bachelor Netaji Bose.
For your personal satisfaction I will request you to
collect the dfficial data of Irs. Anita and her real identy
in the decade of sixties when she was brought to India by Nr.
