manufacturing
company that produces Nylon Resin and other by-products glycerol and
linoleic acid, conducted a Market Research, which is a very important
component in creating business strategy. This market research
determined the market viability of the products as seen in the different
statistical data gathered and analytical methods used in interpretation
of the collected information. It is an essential means for the JOPN
Corporation to establish the sales ability of the products produced in
the Industry.
The historical data of the demand and supply from 2005 to 2009
for glycerol, linoleic acid and Polyamide (Nylon) were gathered,
analyzed, and used in the projection of values at the target year 2017.
Statistical treatment methods were applied and compared to show all
the realistic projections. From these statistical treatments, the best
demand and supply projections were selected. Then, from these data
the plant rated capacity and the actual market share were determined.
The projected demand and supply of the companys product
were carefully analyzed using the import and export data; and the
production and consumption data that were obtained from the
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), National Statistics Office (NSO)
and the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB).
The researchers also focused on the target clients or consumers
who are now concerned for both the environment and their familys
welfare by creating a new product from indigenous raw materials.
Likewise, we have also looked into our competitors and their strategies

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
POLYON
azelaic
acid )
DESCRIPTION
Nylon is a generic name for thermo-plastic polyamide resins. These
resins are available as laments and yarns, molding compounds, and
casting materials. Extreme toughness, high softening temperature, and
high chemical resistance characterize molded parts.
In contrast to the fermentation pathway to adipic acid from glucose,
azelaic acid (nonanedioic acid), thediacid monomer for production of
Nylon, is produced by a chemical synthesis pathway from oleic acid
derived from Jatropha oil. The Polyon nylon product of JATROPHA OIL
PRODUCTS AND NYLON RESIN CORPORATION (JOPNC) will chemically
and physically conforms to the existing commercial Polyamide Resin
used in the industry.
USES
used for making shing nets, ropes, parachutes and type cords.
used as thread for textile manufacturing and sewing where
strong bond nylon is required.

DESCRIPTION
The product name Jagly was derived from the words Jatropha oil (Ja-)
and Glycerol (-Gly). In producing nylon Resin from Jatropha oil,
saponication of crude Jatropha oil was done. This process produced a
by- product of GlycerolMonooleate. The table below summarized the
target properties of commercial Glycerol. The JOPNCs Jagly has the
following Properties:
USES
Primary and Auxiliary emulsiers.
Used as Lubricant and spreading agents in bath oils,
Pigment dispersants in makeup, slip agents in vanishing and
moisturizing creams.
Major uses include creams, lotions, hair rinses, make-up, shaving
preparations, conditioners and toiletries.
DESCRIPTION
Linoleic acid is another by- product in the production of nylon resin
from Jatropha oil. It is a colorless liquid at room temperature. But it was
recovered in the process as crystal at low temperature.
USES
Linoleic acid is used in making quick-drying oils, which are useful in oil
paints and varnishes. It has also become increasingly popular in the
beauty products industry because of its benecial properties on the
skin. Research points to linoleic acid's anti-inflammatory, acne
reductive, and moisture retentive properties when applied topically on

the skin.
