In 1920 when master woodworker, Mr Elliot, first developed his fine furniture wax polish, Antiquax, for the aristocratic clients of a London

Antiquax Original Liquid Wax Floor Polish is a premium non-silicone liquid

wax polish designed to impart lasting high levels of shine and foot traffic
protection on all types of wood floors and panelling.

Anitquax Original Wax Polish is a superlative wax polish blended from the finest beeswax and carnauba wax for
use on all fine natural woods and antique pieces of furniture. Antiquax Original Wax Polish penetrates and
nourishes wood. It enhances the grain and patina, whilst providing a lasting sheen with dust and fingerprinting
resistance.
How to use: Shake the container thoroughly. Apply sparingly to a clean, dry, soft cloth and work along
the grain of the wood, and into the joints, avoiding excessive wetting. Allow to dry, and buff lightly, with
a clean dry soft cloth.

Antiquax Natural Beeswax is based on pure natural beeswax for use on previously sealed surfaces and is made from
the highest quality waxes to clean, polish and protect wooden furniture.
How to use: Simply use a clean cotton cloth and apply the Beeswax in the direction of the wood grain where
possible. To obtain a consistent finish, always wipe evenly, blending the Beeswax over the whole surface area.
Antiquax Quick Polish is a wax free aerosol polish that is perfect for modern lacquered furniture.
Use Antiquax Quick Polish for a fast, efficient spray on - wipe off finish.
How to use: Shake well before use. Spray evenly to the surface from a distance of 20 30cm. Wipe over the surface
with a soft clean cloth. Polish with a new clean dry soft cloth folding repeatedly and buff until dry.

FURNITURe CReAM
Antiquax Brown Wax is a solid wax based upon superlative natural waxes, specially designed to protect and
nourish dark woods such as Mahogany, Dark Oak and Teak. It provides a lasting and durable wax sheen to
craftsman standards.
Antiquax Furniture Cream is an aqueous cream cleaner blended from high quality natural waxes. It has been
specially formulated to clean and polish in one operation, providing a deep gloss on all pre-waxed and sealed
lacquered furniture. In addition to its ease of application, Antiquax Furniture Cream also deposits a protective
layer that helps to maintain your treasured possessions for years to come.

How to use: Apply sparingly with a soft cloth working into and along the grain. Allow to dry to a haze and polish
with a clean soft cloth, again, working along the grain to reveal the sheen. Repeat regularly to develop a fine
patina and enhance the grain.

Antiquax Lavender Wax Polish is a superior polish containing a blend of natural waxes and essential oils to improve
durability and protect all types of woods. It also contains an exquisite lavender fragrance.
How to use: Apply sparingly, using a soft cloth, in a circular motion. Work well into the surface and allow to dry to a
light haze. Remove by polishing in a circular motion using a clean dry cloth.
How to use: Shake container thoroughly before use. Apply to a clean dry cloth and work over the surface in a
polishing motion. Allow to dry to a light haze then buff to a deep shine using a new, clean, dry, soft cloth.

Antiquax Ring Remover is easy to use and will gently remove ring marks from polished wooden surfaces, whilst
leaving a pleasant citrus fragrance.
How to use: Shake well before use. Spray lightly directly onto the stain, and rub gently with a soft cloth in the
direction of the grain. Do not use a circular motion. Remove any remaining liquid on completion. Rebuild the finish as
necessary using a good quality Antiquax polish.

free. These products are quick spray for an immediate shine.
Antiquax Leather Soap is a blend of traditional waxes specifically designed to clean and prolong the beauty of
leather.
How to use: Shake thoroughly before use. Apply onto a damp cloth or sponge, and work into the surface
developing a weak lather. Remove excess and allow to dry. Polish using a soft dry clean cloth to restore the
natural finish. Where serious deterioration has occurred, Antiquax Leather Cream should be considered.

Antiquax Leather Cream has been specially formulated using natural oils with exceptional cleaning properties. It has
a pleasent leather aroma and keeps leather clean and supple, helping to preserve it for years to come.
How to use: Shake thoroughly before use. Apply with a clean dry cloth, and allow Antiquax Leather Cream to
pentrate the surface. Buff using a clean dry soft cloth. Repeat regularly.
CRysTAL & ChANDeLIeR CLeANeR

Spray on and watch the dirt and dust fall off. Antiquax Crystal and Chandelier Cleaner is fitted with a special high capacity nozzle that allows the
cleaner to spray further than conventional aerosols. This feature makes the process easier, faster and more economical.
It also has a pleasant fragrance leaving fine and crystal cut glass surfaces with a streak free sparkling finish.
How to use: Always switch power supply off at the mains. If application is located over carpets, or other decorative
surfaces, place polythene sheet directly underneath the appliance then plenty of newspapers, old cloths etc
on top of it to catch and absorb drips and product run-off. Shake can well, stand to one side and spray copiously.
Allow to run off the appliance. Repeat if heavily soiled. Allow to dry naturally. Ensure any treated appliance is
thoroughly dry before switching power on.
MIRRoR & GLAss CLeANeR

Antiquax Mirror and Glass Cleaner is a product developed for fast and effective results.
It has been formulated from carefully selected ingredients to keep your delicate
glassware sparkling clean and smear free. It is also recommended for use on Formica
and many other plastics, glazed ceramic tiles, and other reflective surfaces including
stainless steel and chromium.

Antiquax Copper and Brass Polish is created from a blend of natural ingredients to clean without an abrasive action. Therefore, unlike conventional

Indoor Wood Finishes

Danish Oil
A unique formulation developed by Rustins that is suitable for all types of wood.
It differs from Teak Oil in that it contains special ingredients to give it a low lustre finish.
It is an easy to use wipe on finish, which brings out the beauty of the timber and gives a
natural, open grained, soft lustrous finish. Ideal for all woods and is excellent on turned
woodwork. Rustins Danish Oil conforms to The Articles in Contact with Food Regulations
and to the Toys (Safety) Regulations 1995, BS:EN71 Part 3.

A quick drying wooden work surface treatment which nourishes and protects all types of
timber. It is low odour, food safe, and leaves a durable, water-resistant, natural finish.

Tung Oil
A pure natural non-toxic oil that is completely free from solvent. It has good penetration
into all types of timber without leaving a film and its special properties make it highly
resistant to water, alcohol and food stuffs. It is additive free and safe for use in contact
with food. It forms a hard wearing finish making it suitable for kitchen work surfaces,
chopping boards and interior wood work.

DANISHOIL
A clear hard wearing coating for all interior

woodwork which has the least effect on the
colour of the wood.
Low odour, non-toxic and touch dry in 20
minutes; re-coatable in 2 hours.
Clean brushes in water.
Available in gloss, satin and matt finishes.
Preparation: The surface must be

clean, bare and sanded smooth. Oily
woods (e.g. Teak, Iroko) should be
cleaned thoroughly with white spirit to
help penetration and improve adhesion.
Bare wood may be dyed with Rustins Wood Dye. The dye
may also be added to Danish Oil but the colour will be a
lighter shade. If a natural open-grain is not required use
Rustins Grainfiller before oiling.
Application: Using a clean soft cloth or brush apply liberally,
then wipe off the excess after a few minutes. For a superior
smooth finish the final coat may be applied using a plastic
scouring pad, rubbing in the direction of the grain, wiping
away the surplus with a soft cloth or paper towels. New or
bare wood should be oiled 3 times initially.

woodwork and cork. Apply 2-3 coats for
the perfect finish.

Re-Coating Time: Allow 4 to 8 hours between applications

depending on the temperature and humidity.
Maintenance: When applying to previously oiled wood, the
surface should be cleaned and any wax removed using white
spirit or Rustins Surface Cleaner. Wipe away the solution
formed with clean paper towels prior to re-oiling. If the
surface develops a slight gloss, this can be removed by
rubbing with grade 00 or 000 steel wool and either wax polish
or white spirit finishing off with a soft cloth.

Plastic Coating
Colours shown, matched as near as printing processes will allow.
Two-part clear cold cure lacquer for use on wood,

hardboard, cork and plastic laminates. Extremely
good adhesion, resistant to heat, solvents and
abrasion. Can be burnished to a mirror like gloss
or rubbed down to a smooth, satin finish with
steel wool and wax. An excellent finish for
marquetry as it does not darken light coloured
veneers and does not yellow or craze on ageing.
Hard-dry within 2 hours of application.

Antique Pine
Rustins Advanced Wood Preserver is a low

odour, non-flammable product based on microemulsion nanotechnology.
The ultra-fine particle size allows deep
penetration of the preserver to take place so
the performance of the product is much greater
than standard wood preservation products.
It is quick drying and can be applied to wet or
dry timbers.
For use against wood boring insects and wood
rotting fungi within domestic, commercial,
institutional and industrial premises.

Preparation: The surface must
be clean, dry and free from wax,
algae and mould. Previous
coatings should be removed so
that the Decking Oil can
penetrate and adhere to the
timber. Ensure the timber is dry, as dampness will prevent
penetration and result in poor adhesion. Where the deck is
weather stained, discoloured, or of poor appearance use
Rustins Decking Cleaner to clean and revive the surface.
When decking timber is not pre-treated such as with
hardwood decking, use a wax free preservative on the wood
before the oil. It is advisable to test for compatibility on a
small area before proceeding further.
This will assist in preventing the growth of mould naturally
present in the wood.
Application: Shake well before use. Using a clean brush or
roller apply liberally and evenly. Allow to dry overnight. A
further two coats will be needed to give optimum protection.
Maintenance: From time to time, depending on exposure
and use, decks will need re-oiling to maintain appearance
and level of protection.

remove accumulated wax and dirt from
furniture without harming the original finish.
It should be applied with a soft cloth, or, if
the wood is very dirty, with 000 steel wool.
Wipe off the solution of dirt formed whilst
still damp, with a clean rag or paper kitchen
towels.
Sticky-Off is an adhesive remover ideal for

tackling sticky gum, glue, labels, tape and
adhesives from surfaces such as glass,
plastic, metal, wood, worktops and clothes.
Simply spray liberally onto the substance
you want to remove, then allow the
Sticky-Off to do the work.

A blend of special cleaning agents to

remove dirt, algae, mildew and grease from
wooden garden furniture. It cleans and
revives, prior to re-finishing with Rustins

the other Rustins' exterior wood finishes.
Just spray a small amount of cleaner onto
the furniture - then use a damp cloth,
sponge or scrubbing brush to remove any
stubborn stains.
Wax Polish Remover is ideal for cleaning

antique and old furniture and will not
destroy the patina that has been acquired

Rustins Quick Dry Floor Varnish is a hard wearing water based,

A mixture of natural vegetable oils and resins which improves the colour of bare wood.
Wood tone will become richer when oil is applied. Allow 4-8 hours between coats,

Can be applied to all types of interior wooden floors, including parquet, woodblock and
floorboards.

A heavy bodied, pale coloured, solvent based

polyurethane which gives a tough and durable

the surface is clean and free from wax.

Floor Shines
Specially formulated for use on flooring. Laminated Floor Shine is for use on laminated
floors, whilst Multi-Purpose Floor Shine can be used on wood, cork, vinyl and lino flooring.
Low odour, easy application and quick drying. Leaves a brilliant shine without buffing.
Drying time 10-20 minutes. Leave for 24 hours before re-coating.

Based on a flexible water-borne, non-yellowing

acrylic resin. For use in combination with saw or
sanding dust from carpentry work as a colourmatched filler for gaps between flooring boards
and joints.

How to...
QUICKDRY
FLOORVARNISH
Preparation: The floor must be
clean, free from wax, grease and
dust. Remove all traces of wax polish with wire wool and
white spirit. Use a clean rag to remove the mixture of
white spirit and wax. It is advisable to repeat this process
even if the floor is to be sanded as sanding forces wax
further into the wood. Special care should be taken where
there are large cracks in the flooring as these can become
caked with old wax polish. Large cracks or holes can be
filled with Rustins Wood Filler. New or old floors that have
been sanded can be stained with Rustins Wood Dye
before varnish; other brands of dye may not be
compatible.
Application: STIR WELL BEFORE AND DURING USE.
Do not dilute. Apply very liberally with minimum brushing
using large brush or roller, finishing off in direction of the
grain with light pressure. It will be touch-dry in approximately
20 minutes. A cold damp atmosphere or high humidity will
slow the drying. A second coat can be applied after a
minimum of 2 hours. Three liberal coats are usually sufficient
but four are recommended on cork. When applied over
existing finishes the adhesion will improve over a period of
2448 hours. Floors can be walked on after 2 hours but
should not be subject to heavy wear for 24 hours. Wipe off
spillages immediately during first three days. If first or second
application raises the grain, sand lightly before applying
another coat.
It is essential that raised grain is protected by an adequate
thickness of varnish. If film thickness is not sufficient to cover
raised grain water may be absorbed which will discolour the
wood. Do not use less than recommended coverage. Do not
pour varnish into an unlacquered metal container; use glass
or polythene. Clean brushes immediately after use with
water; clean hard brushes with Rustins Cellulose Thinners or
Rustins Brush Restorer.

Quick Dry Stain Blocker

A quick drying water-based matt white stain
blocker for interior and exterior use, with
excellent adhesion to wood, plaster and
previously painted surfaces. It will seal all
stains that may bleed through and discolour
paint. When dry, it can be painted with any
type of paint and undercoat. Stain Blocker
can be applied over asphalt, bitumen,
crayon, creosote, graffiti, nicotine, rust,
soot, tannin and water stains.
Quick Dry MDF Sealer

A quick drying, clear sealer that allows the
application of both paints or varnishes,
unlike white MDF sealers which can only be
painted. Touch dry in 30 minutes and can be
re-coated in 2 hours.

formulated with a water based
acrylic emulsion which has a
milky-white appearance whilst liquid but dries to a clear
sealer.

Application: Stir before use and apply liberally and evenly
with a synthetic fibre brush, pad or sponge. If finishing with a
gloss paint, edges and rebated or routed areas may require a
second application of sealer. For best results, apply an
undercoat after sealing and before applying final gloss paint.
Re-coatingTime: The sealer will be touch dry in
approximately 30 minutes depending upon the temperature
and humidity and can be re-coated after a minimum of two

bare timber and suitable for replacing the

shellac varnishes, for use in spirit burning

concentrated and 500ml makes up to 13

A special blend of pure solvents that will mix

with any make of cellulose lacquer.
It does not contain any xylol, toluene or any

For sealing knots and resinous and

creosoted timber to prevent bleeding
through paint film. Sandpaper surface
smooth before applying liberally over knots

dry before priming. Clean brushes with
methylated spirits. Knotting should not be

Rustins sugar soap is ideal for

preparing surfaces for repainting,
cutting through grease and dirt,
leaving the surface chemically clean
so that a fresh coat of paint adheres
readily. Rustins sugar soap is also
excellent for general household
cleaning. It is suitable for use on
paintwork, vinyl wallcoverings and enamel surfaces.
Rustins sugar soap is concentrated and 500ml makes up
to 13 litres of full strength solution.
DIReCTIoNs FoR Use

Preparation: Shake bottle well before use. Wear suitable
protective gloves. Protect floor coverings and fabrics from
spillage.
A special blend of ingredients to clean and
restore all types of white UPVC that are
weather stained, dirty and dull. Ingrained
dirt is quickly removed and if the surface
has lost its shine, Rustins UPVC Cleaner
will restore the gloss. It is ideal for white
UPVC windows, doors, fascias, cladding
and plastic garden furniture.

For use as a general household cleaner: Add 50ml of

Rustins Sugar Soap to 412 litres of warm water in a large
bucket and stir. Soak a sponge or cloth in the solution and
clean the surface well. Rinse with fresh clean water and
allow to dry thoroughly. Mop up any spillages immediately
with a damp cloth.
Cleaning and preparing for repainting: Add 170ml of

Rustins Sugar Soap to 412 litres of warm water in a large
bucket and stir. Soak a sponge or cloth in the solution and
clean surface well. Sand down any uneven spots. Rinse
with fresh clean water and allow to dry thoroughly. Mop up

Surface Cleaner
Is a blend of powerful solvents, which will remove accumulated wax and dirt from furniture
without harming the original finish. It should be applied with a soft cloth, or, if the wood is
very dirty, with 000 steel wool. Wipe off the solution of dirt formed whilst still damp, with a
clean rag or paper kitchen towels.

Is a non-flammable and non-toxic wax emulsion containing pure beeswax and carnauba
wax. It can be used with complete safety on all new and old furniture after cleaning off old

Finish Reviver

If the original finish has lost its lustre or has fine surface scratches, the Finish Reviver will
restore the gloss and remove minor surface defects. Water marks and heat marks can also
be removed unless they have penetrated right through the finish to the wood. If this has
happened, the only remedy is to remove the old finish completely with Rustins Strypit Paint
& Varnish Stripper and refinish.

general leather cleaner and is suitable for use on all
leathers except Suede and NuBuck.. A safe to use
cleaner to remove stubborn dirt and grime.
This leather cleaning solution contains no solvents or
abrasives, allowing it to clean leather safely without
causing any damage, yet it is still capable of
removing deeply ingrained dirt and grime. Rustins
Leather Cleaner is an effective and powerful water
based leather cleaner making it ideal for cleaning light
coloured leathers that show the dirt most, but can still
be used on all colours of leather safely.
Rustins Leather Re-Colouring Balm restores the

colour to faded and worn leather by simply rubbing in
with a soft cloth. It is suitable for use on all leathers

Henry Flack started manufacturing French polishes and blending waxes in 1860 to
supply the cabinet makers and woodcarvers in East London. After severe bomb
damage during the Second World War, the company relocated to Beckenham in Kent.
In 1961 the company was acquired by the Bollom family and in 2013 became part of
the Rustins group.

Briwax and Briwax Original
Briwax
Wax polish offers the simplest of finishes to unfinished / raw timber or the final
touch to a full French polished surface whether in the home or the workshop.
A blend of Beeswax and Carnauba waxes to give an instant natural sheen to bare
wood or wood prepared with Shellac Sanding Sealer. Ideal for woodcarvings and
turned wood, for floors and skirtings. Briwax cleans and protects wood, metalwork
even melamine.
Liquid Beeswax

Both waxes are formulated to produce the Briwax finish on finished and
unfinished timber. The Briwax has been blended with slightly milder solvents,
so that it gives off less odour whilst drying, whilst at the same time providing a
smooth application and finish.
The film remains as a paste for slightly longer to aid the even application.
Briwax Original is formulated with fast drying, stronger solvents which speed up
drying, and also increase the cleaning ability of the wax slightly. This means that
it will renovate older dirtier furniture. The choice is yours, either product will leave
you with the deep grain enriching BRIWAX shine.

ideal for use on absorbent woods such as

Briwax Spray Wax
Size: 400ml
A smooth white tinted paste wax,

formulated to produce a white grained finish
in open grained timbers. Particularly
effective on oak and similar timbers. It is
most effective when applied directly onto the
bare wood giving the deep white colouring,
but for an even effect it can be applied onto
stained and sealed surfaces. Some woods
will benefit from opening the grain with a
wire brush. Liming Wax can be overcoated
with Clear Briwax for a more durable finish.

The final colour of your project will also depend on the colour of the timber that you start with.
Always try an inconspicuous area to check you are satisfied with the colour achieved before
commencing to wax the whole piece.
Natural Creamed Beeswax
Hard Wax Oil

Clear satin finish that is hard wearing, water
and stain resistant that will dry to an
attractive, durable, natural finish. Suitable for
use on internal woodwork subject to a high
degree of wear, Briwax Hard Wax Oil brings
out the natural beauty of the wood and makes
the wood colours become richer. Briwax Hard
Wax Oil is easy to apply and maintain, leaving
a wear, water and stain-resistant finish to
woodwork.

A traditional style sealer. Formulated using

the natural, harvested shellac. It forms an
ideal base for any of our wax polishes, or for
the other shellac based polishes, such as

Sanding Sealer uses alcohol to dissolve the
shellac, and as a result dries very quickly.

Non-drip contact adhesive

Alpha Thixofix Contact Adhesive makes it simple to bond laminated plastics to wood
and other substrates.
Thixofix is a gel, similar to non-drip paint, so it spreads like butter. It does not spill and
cuts out the mess normally associated with ordinary contact adhesives.
When bonding normal sized sheets of laminated plastics, the unique "slideability" of
