The 2014 Leading Law Firms Forum

ollowing a successful third edition of the Leading Law Firms Forum held in
Mombasa on 14th November, 2014, the fourth edition of the forum aims to
build on the proud tradition of bringing together East Africas premier law
firms for an evening of experience sharing, mapping business opportunities
and fostering strategic alliances. Last years event was also the graced by
participation of the Law Firm Management Committee of the International Bar
Association and also saw the participation of a number of international Law Firms.
The Leading Law Firms Forum is one of the cornerstones of East Africa Law
Society s membership business development strategy; and seeks to ensure
that East African Lawyers take their place at the highly competitive and lucrative
investment and economic growth opportunities unfolding across the region.
The 2014 edition of the EALS Leading Law Firms Forum will feature a keynote
presentation by Mr. Owen Tobias on how to competitively structure and position
the modern law firm. Mr. Tobias is a partner at Webber Wentzel (Winner of
the Who is Who South African Law Firm of the Year 2014 award for the fourth
consecutive time; and selected as a World Economic Forum Global Growth
Company for 2014. The firm employs over 400 lawyers and is headquartered in
Johannesburg).
The forum will also feature a 2014 assessment of the investment and business
climate for the legal profession across the African Continent, as a compass for the
business lawyer to determine which areas of focus will ensure a high return. This
will be by Mr. Rob Millard, a partner with Venturis Consulting UK.

professional legal services not only across East Africa as envisaged by the East
African Community Treaty but also across the entire African Continent.

towards the success of the event. This is a subsidized rate that provides the following benefits for

EALS website and the EALS Face book page for a period of six months to ensure far

Waiver of registration fees for three members of your firm to attend the Annual
