Sneakers Street in Hong Kong has the

best sneaker stores in Hong Kong.

Officially the street is named Fa Yuen
Street, and only the southern section from
Argyle to Dundas street. Filled with high
end brands as well as discount running
shoes, it is where everybody in Hong Kong
goes for their sneakers. The northern
section, from Mongkok Street to Prince
Edward road is where the market stalls
are located.
Sneakers Street from Nathan street
It is an easy walk to Sneaker Street from
anywhere on Nathan Road, but longer if you are
in the southern Golden Mile near Victoria
Harbour. To walk from the beginning of Nathan
Road takes about half an hour.
The turning into Dundas street is signposted, it
is a turning on your right as you walk northwards
along Nathan Road. Then the 3rd turning on the
left is Fa Yuen Street, and immediately even in
the first streets you will start to see the varied
sports shoe shops that make the area famous.
MTR
Save some walking and take the MTR , as the
main MTR line runs under Nathan Road you can
take it quickly to a place close to Sneakers
Street.
For example get on the train at Tsimshatsui MTR
Station and take the Tuen Wan Line towards
Tuen Wan until you reach Mongkok MTR
Station. Alight there and exit from the station via
exit D3.
Come out of the station at street level and turn
around 180 degrees and walk to the main road,
this is Argyle Street. Turn right onto Argyle Street
and walk two blocks. The second turning on your
right is Fa Yuen Street, just at the northern end
of the Sneakers Street section.
Sneakers Street from Causeway Bay
If fashion shopping for clothes and accessories
is your interest then you'll be sure to visit
Causeway Bay on Hong Kong island, which has

a great range of sneaker shops as well. But if

you want to get to the centre of Hong Kong's
sneaker shops then you'll have to travel from
Causeway Bay to Fa Yuen Street, and here is
how.
Bus
There are direct buses which take you almost
door-to-door. The best choice would be bus 112
operated by NWFB and CityBus. Catch this fast
modern bus anywhere in Causeway Bay. It stops
outside the Hong Kong Central Library, opposite
Victoria Park, then at Yee Woo Street just behind
the Jardine's Cresent ladies shopping lane.
Then again at Canal Road bus stop just behind
Times Square.
Then it is just a few stops across Victoria
Harbour by tunnel, then alight at the Dundas
Street / Nathan Road bus stop. Walk back a few
meters to the crossing to cross the road then
along Dundas Street for 3 turnings and you are
in the Fa Yuen Sneakers Street.
MTR
From Causeway Bay go into the MTR and take
the Island Line towards the west as far as
Admiralty MTR Station, there change to the
Tuen Wan Line towards the north, then following
the instructions as above for MTR.
Sneakers Street from the Airport
If you are on a layover in Hong Kong
International Airport and wish to take a shopping
trip to stock up on special sports shoes, then a
trip to Sneakers Street is in order! However
unfortunately the trip from Chep Lap Kok to Fa
Yuen Street is long and not that easy. The best
solution when in a hurry is to take a taxi which
will take less than 40 minutes under good road
conditions.
Otherwise for public transport consider these
options.

Train
Take the super fast modern Airport Express
train, which stops inside the airport building itself
at the arrivals level, as far as the Tsing Yi stop,
that's one stop.
Change to the Tung Chung Line towards Central
and take that 1 stop to Lai King MTR station.
Change again this time to the Tsuen Wan Line
still towards central, and alight when you reach
the Mongkok MTR station. From there follow
the instructions for MTR above.
Bus
Consider also the airport bus, either A21 or E21.
Both leave from the airport and take similar
routes, but the A21 is an express and takes only

6 stops to reach Nelson Street Mong Kok which

is the closest stop. The E21 takes 23 stops to
take you to Sai Yeung Choi Street, where you
should alight and walk forward to the corner of
Fife Street.
At Fife Street turn left and walk two blocks which
will take you into Sneakers Street/Fa Yuen
Street near the northern end. The bus fare for
the E21 is only HK$14, while the A21 is $33 per
person.
