experience in life. These indicated the individual's functions, interactions with people, work and
love. Similar with these twelve signs are the twelve houses in an analogy. The calculations for
house are based on exact birth time. There are several methods like Placidus which is the most
ancient one, equal houses (with variants), Koch, Regiomontanus, Topocentric, Morinus, etc.
Astrological horoscopes explain using houses and the threshold from one house to another
depends on an author's approach only. This may vary from 1 to 6, or sometimes 8 or 10. The
twelve signs follow the explanations written in the scriptures.
The 1st house is referred to as the ascendant or the Self which is demeanor, and vitality. This
describes personality, outside appearance and is most necessary natal chart feature with four
angles of natal chart. Being located on left hand side of natal chart it corresponds to place where
the Sun rises. The 2nd house is about money earned and material goods. This describes material
possession, their upkeep and also earning of money. It is also when financial matters provide
meaning for possessions.
The 3rd house is indicating about certain immediate surroundings, short trips, and studies. It is for
dealing with communication, environment, education and apprenticeship. Modern means of
communication and all practical things are described from here. The 4th house tells about family,
home, origins, heredity, and the father. This house described native's family, roots and home. The
real estate patrimony, childhood and emotions are well described. At the bottom of chart and like
ascendant it is an angular house. The 5th house is indicating love matters, pleasure, leisure,
children, and creations. This house describes creative and recreational activities, hobbies and
luck from gambling. This house would cover all pleasant things from native's life. The 6 th house
is about everyday life, daily work and colleagues, lower-ranking co-workers, and health. This
describes behavior at work, minor obligations, co workers and pets. To the facilities of health,

descendant and is for unions, marriage, other people, associations, and contracts. This describes

people. It is opposite the ASC, and is located on the right hand side of the natal chart and
corresponds to the place where the sun sets. The 8th house indicates life of passions and crises,
transformations, financial investments, and sexuality. The 9 th house is of travels, abstract and
higher concepts, spirituality, and foreign matters. The 10th house is referred to as the midheaven
and is for social success, professional destiny, and the mother. The 11 th house is for friends,
collective projects, supports and protections in life. The 12 th house is for enemies, solitude,
difficulties, hidden ordeals, and secrets.
