2. In the following figure identify and label the PLC Processing Module, Power Supply,
Input Module and Output Module.

3. Compare and contrast the performance characteristics of the Rockwell 1769-L20 CompactLogix
5320 controller and the Siemens Simatic S71200 CPU 1214C DC/DC/DC controller. Place your
answer following your lab summary in your report.

4. Activate each of the input switches on the trainer. As each switch is activated, record which LED
light (number) on each of the modules changes and what is its state (ON or OFF) after the switch
is activated. The name or tag for each input and output is shown in the table on the next page.

5. Complete the wiring diagrams for the input and output modules of the CompactLogix PLC
trainers using the table created above and by tracing the switch and output wiring back to the
modules. Use the industry standard symbols provided. Be sure to draw the electrical symbol in
the switches normal state. Note for normally open switches the LED lights will go on and

for normally closed devices the light will go off. Record the PLC trainer used, the device
tag name and its corresponding physical address on the module. Also indicate the wire
number on the figure. Use industry standard symbols. The name or tag for each input
and output is also shown below.
