Birth certificate :

1969 with the childs name and the parents names on it. Please note: The parents names must exactly match
the names on the applying childs Date of Birth Certificate and no changes will be accepted later.

Kindly read the instructions carefully before you submit the application form:
SC Judgement: The Honble Supreme Court of India has held in the case of Society for Unaided Private Schools of Rajasthan v/s. U.O.I. & others
Writ Petition No.95 of 2010 that the provisions of the Right of Children to free and Compulsory Education, Act 2009 (RTE) shall not apply to
Unaided Minority Educational Institutions. The National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Government of India, New Delhi
has declared Carmel Convent School, managed by the Congregation of The Apostolic Carmel Sisters in India to be a Minority Educational
Institutions within the meaning of Section 2(g) of the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions Act, 2004 (NCMEI Act).
Carmel Convent School Sector 9B, Chandigarh , therefore being a certified Christian Minority , Unaided Educational Institution does not
Reserve 25% seats for the E.W.S (Economically Weaker Sections) as mandated in the right of children to free and Compulsory Education,
Act 2009.
2. There are 5 printed pages in the form. Kindly ensure you have downloaded all the pages.
3. Only those girls born between 1st April, 2011 and 31st March 2012 will be eligible for LKG admission for the academic year 2016-17. If your child
is not within the age limit specified, she will NOT be considered for admission.
4. There will be no screening of the children or their parents. Number of seats available for L.KG are 120.
5. Selection for free and open seats; if available after allocation of other seats, will be made by draw of lots on 15th Jan. 2016 at 3.00 p.m. at the school
premises. (Only one) parent or an adult representative (CARRYING THE ACKNOWLEDGMENT SLIP will be permitted to attend the
draw of lots. Please do not bring children along.
6. Only filled in application forms along with attested photocopies of relevant documents will be accepted between 9.00am and 10.00 a.m. from 1st
Dec. 2015 to 18th Dec. 2015, inclusive of both days (Excluding Saturdays, Sundays, 16th December 2015 and holidays ) at the school. No
form will be accepted after 10 am on 18th December 2015 under any circumstances.
7. Incomplete forms/those filled with incorrect information/unattested forms or forms without all the required documents, will NOT be
considered for admission.
8. No enquiries will be entertained at the reception counter at the time of submission of forms.
9. If the names and surnames given in the registration form do not match with the birth certificate of the child, the registration form will be considered
incomplete and will NOT be considered for admission. No changes will be entertained thereafter in the school records. In case of sibling, parents
names to match exactly with siblings name in birth certificate. No spelling differences will be entertained.
10. No alteration will be permitted in the registration form once the same has been submitted. Hence you are strongly advised, if you so desire, that the
necessary rectifications like addition/deletion of the name/surname/parents name/s is done legally from the Issuing Authority before submission of
the Registration form.
Kindly note, the CBSE rule states Applications regarding changes in name or surname of candidates may be considered, provided the changes have
been admitted by the court of law and notified in the Government Gazette before the publication of the result of the candidate.

11. In case it comes to the knowledge of the management, at any point that the information furnished is incorrect or wrong, the admission will stand
cancelled without having any right to claim the refund of the fee paid.
12. Registration/draw of lots does not guarantee admission. The admission process will be considered complete only on completion of all formalities of
admission and payment of fees within the stipulated time.
13. Both parents must be present with the child on the day of admission as the signatures of both are imperative.
14. Originals of all documents must be produced at the time of admission, to permit verification. In case, on verification, any document is found to be
fabricated, forged or tampered with, the management reserves the right to cancel the admission.
15. Please ensure that the acknowledgement slip that will be given to you, is retained and produced whenever you come to the school regarding
all future dealings pertaining to admissions.
16. Please note: The school does not take responsibility for providing transport facilities for the children. Parents are responsible for the same. However,
there are a few private contractors plying buses for the school under an agreement with the school. Students may avail of this, seats permitting. Parents
are advised to take admission in schools near to their residence.
17. The school being a minority institution reserves its Constitutional Right to give preference to children from the Christian Community. Preference will
also be given to Siblings. Wards of Alumni, Management and Wards of Staff. (As regards the wards of Alumni, preference will be given to those
Alumni who have been active members of CESA for ideally 5 years and who have been supportive to the school). Conditions apply. Kindly note:
Preference does not guarantee admission. All alumni are requested to attach the documents listed as well as a list detailing how they have
supported CESA/CARMEL.
18. With the firm belief that children should not be exposed to the stress of long journeys, the school will only consider those children eligible for
admission who are living within the Chandigarh, the Panchkula urban area (as given on the official website of the Town and Country Planning,
Haryana) and Mohali MC Boundary (as given in the official website of MC Mohali- www.mcmohali.org). The only exceptions will be siblings.
19. Being a Christian minority educational institution and in imitation of Jesus who made a preferential option for the poorest of the poor of the society,
the school has independently been educating children from the E.D.G. (Economically Disadvantaged Group) since 1959. The institution has never
stopped to look after EDG and will continue to reach out to them. Kindly note: This is an entirely voluntary exercise as the school being a Christian
Minority, Private Unaided school does not come under the purview of the RTE in the matter.
20. Only ONE application form per child is to be submitted. In the event of it being discovered that more than one application has been submitted for a
child, all such forms will stand rejected and the candidate shall be disqualified and not to be considered for the Draw of Lots.
21. Forms and all the accompanying documents/photographs, once submitted, will become the property of the school and shall not be returned.
22. At the time of submission of forms:
(a) A sum of Rs. 100 /- is to be deposited.
(b) Kindly bring along an Original Date of Birth Certificate and an address proof for verification purpose. The same will be returned
immediately.
(c) There will be preliminary examination of the forms. All the forms found incomplete/ with documents missing/unattested/ with incorrect
information will not be accepted.
(d) The accepted forms will, thereafter, be subjected to further detailed scrutiny after which final selection of eligible candidates will be done.
23. The final list of eligible candidates for the draw of lots will be put up on website on 29th December, 2015.
