Course Syllabus and Classroom Procedures

4th Grade

Room 215

Hello and welcome to fourth grade! I am excited to have you all in my

class this year and am looking forward to a year filled with fun, learning, and
lots of new adventures! Below is some information that will ensure that we
will have a great year!
Class Expectations:
Come to class prepared and on time every day.
Follow directions the first time given.
Respect the rights and property of those around you.
Core Values:
Children learn in different ways on different days.

Everyone is deserving of the highest respect.

Doing extra makes a difference.

Everyone is responsible for individual choices.

Eating Breakfast and Getting to School on Time:

It is very important for you to eat breakfast every day. Our school offers breakfast for all
students, please take advantage of this healthy meal. Breakfast is served beginning at 7:00a.m.
Getting to school on time is very important for your education. Please make sure that you arrive
at school by the first bell at 7:55am.
Homework/ Reading Log
Homework and reading log assignments will be given every night. Please
make sure you complete all of your homework and reading each night. Your
homework and reading log should be placed in your homework folder and
turned into the homework bins as soon as you come into class every
morning. (Take your homework folder out of your backpack while you are
waiting in line in the morning.)
Students who do not complete their homework must complete it at recess
and/or lunch.
Behavior/Homework Sheets

Every Monday you will receive a new behavior sheet for the week. You will
right your daily homework assignments on one side of this paper and your
behavior color on the other side. This paper should always be kept in your
homework folder, and needs to be turned in with a parent signature the
following Monday.
Bathroom
Please make sure to go to the bathroom before school and during recess and
lunch. It is disruptive to the class when we have to stop in the middle of a
lesson for you to go to the bathroom.
Behavior
AWESOME: Every morning when you walk in to class, you will notice the word
AWESOME written on the board. Your goal is to keep the whole word up on
the board by behaving respectfully in class all day. If the whole word stays up
all day, the class will receive a star. Five stars equal a reward!
Greenbacks: Greenbacks will be awarded to students who are caught doing
something good. They may be used to shop in the student store or for
coupons. You will also earn Greenbacks at the end of each month for
behavior.
Behavior Chart: There are four colors on the class behavior chart. Green
means you had a great day. Yellow is a warning. Red means you have to sit
out of recess and/or lunch. Blue is a conference with the parents/ principal.
Im looking forward to a wonderful year with all of you. I know that we will
make a fantastic team. Welcome to the Room 215 Family!!!
