INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING ONLINE APPLICATION FORM FOR Ph.D. ENTRANCE


EXAMINATION TO BE HELD ON 30th April 2010

1. The application form will be available only online on the website


http://www.bamu.net.
2. The application form can be filled only online from 25 March to 17th April 2010.
3. Candidate should enclose following documents along with the hard copy of
application form.

a) D.D. of Rs. 200/- for SC/ST Category and Rs. 300/- for other Category on any
nationalized bank to be drawn in favour of the
“Registrar, Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University,
Aurangabad.”
(Write your name & Cell No. on Back side of D.D.)
b) Attested Xerox copy of the Caste Certificate in case of reserved categories.
c) Attested Xerox copy of the Medical Certificate issued by Civil Surgeon in
case of Physically and Visually Handicapped candidates.

d) Attested Xerox copy of Mark list of Master’s Degree.

4. Candidate must send above documents in an envelope of size 36 cm x 25 cm


candidate must paste the cover page given along with the application form on the
envelope.
5. Candidate should fill-up the online application form and must send hard copy of the
Application form along with D.D. and other above mentioned documents to the
following address.

Candidates can also submit PET Examination form personally (by hand) to the
Deputy Registrar, Ph.D. Section, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University,
Aurangabad

6. Last date for receipt of hard copy of the online filled application form alongwith D.D.
and other necessary documents is 17th April 2010 till 5.30 p.m.
7. No request for changes in the information provided in the online form will be
entertained.

8. Paper –I Research Aptitude Test


Total Marks : 40
Total Questions : 40
Each correct answer carries 1 Mark,

(Paper –I Consists of following Parts.)


a) Language competency / G.K.
b) Research Methodology
c) Logical Reasoning
9. Paper –II Subject specific Test

Total Marks : 60

(This part shall be based on the current PG syllabus of Dr. B.A.M. University in concerned
subject)

10. A) Exemption from appearing written Test.

1. Candidates who have qualified GATE/SET/NET/JRF Examinations of apex bodies such


as CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT are exempted from appearing for the written
examinations (Paper I & II). They are eligible for personal interview at the respective
Research & Recognition Committee.
2. A candidate who has acquired Ph.D. degree in any subject from any statutory university
need not appeared for PET, if he / she desire to peruse recently leading to Ph.D. degree in
any other subject.

3. A candidate who has acquired M.Phil degree from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar
Marathwada University, Aurangabad and other statutory University whose admission
at M.Phil has been done through an entrance examination (Course Work) need not
appears for PET.

4. A candidate who has five years of approved service need not appear for PET.

B) Exemption from the prescribed qualification:

For admission to the Ph.D. programme in a related subject in the faculty, applicants
fulfilling the following criteria shall be treated as eligible.

a) Persons working in National Laboratories – Institutes / Government / Private


Organization nominated / Sponsored by the respective employer. These persons
should have a Post Graduate Degree and holding the rank of Assistant Director /
or above.

C) Above mentioned rule will also be applicable to the foreign candidates who have
Obtained a Masters Degree from the statutory Indian Universities.

a) Application for research in inter-disciplinary areas and from applications


belonging to a faculty or subject other than the faculty or subject in which the
research is proposed to be done and from the international candidates (those
who have not obtained the Master’s degree from Indian Universities) shall be
considered on the basis of the proven ability and aptitude of the researcher for
such kind of research. Such proposal shall be examined by the guide, Head &
concerned Dean at the Place of research before giving provisional admission. The
admission will be confirmed after the Research and Recognition Committee/s
concerned, approves the topic. Detailed procedure for admission should be
evolved by the concerned faculty. Five years work experience in related field
is necessary for such candidates.

b) Admission percentage for foreign candidates (those who have not obtained
Master’s Degree from Indian Universities) will be 50 % or equivalent GPA.

11. Passing Standards for Paper – I & II

Category Marks required to clear Paper- I & II

a) OPEN & Other Categories 50%


b) SC/ST 45%

12. Important Instruction :

1. The candidate is solely responsible for his eligibility and the information, which
he/she
has furnished in the application form.
2. Incomplete applications will be rejected without assigning any reason and no
correspondence will be entertained.

13. Only filling and submission of online application is not sufficient for registration as a
candidate for Ph.D. If hard copy alongwith D.D. and other necessary documents is not
received before 17th April 2010, the registration of the candidate will not be valid.
The Admit-Cards will be provided to all candidates only online on the
university website by entering the application number. After submission of
application form online by the candidates unique application number will be generated
on the form itself. Please remember the same. By entering the application number,
candidate will get his / her admit card by 22 April 2010.
