Introduction:
A Resource Centre for Disabled is a well known rehabilitation centre in jaipur which
was Started in 1995 with 18 students as the rst centre in Rajasthan to provide all
services under one roof for persons with cerebral palsy, other neurological conditions,
physical and mental challenges.
Disha was visualized with the following mission.
A Society with equal opportunities for all.
To contribute to the creation of society which provides equal opportunity to persons
with disability.
To live with dignity and realize their maximum potential, and for the achievement of
this goal to develop on institute of excellence and support institution building for
such person their families and providers of support service.

Orientation : East facing
Location: The School is situated on Disha Path, Near JDA Park,
Nirman Nagar-C Jaipur, India.
Accessibility : 1km from Ganga-Jamuna Petrol Pump( Local Bus Stop).
1km from Mansarover Metro Station.
Landmarks: JDA Park, Mansarover Metro Station.
Approach: 8' wide road and 1entry to the site .No segregation of pedestrian and
vehicular movement inside the site.

Site Character:
Topography: Site is trapaezoidal in shape with at terrain
But as the design is played on levels.
to provide the green areas to classrooms with few metres
above ground oor , the periphery is uplifted to acheive
that and is ramp sloped down to green area to merge on
same level while on right side the area left between the
ramp and building is utilised for parking and generator
room.
Climate: Hot Semi AridSite Zoning and Circulation
Access:1 entry exit Gatte for staff as well as students.
Parking Analysis :
School Bus/Car parked inside the boundary.
Staff Parking is outside the entrance gate almost for 15Cars.
Outdoor Play Areas
The entrance forecourt has been designed as a play garden and on outdoor gathering
space (about 500Sqm) in front side of the building,with the curved facade of the
building acting as a backdrop to the stage with punctured windows braking the
monotony

Observation:
Parking as per the requirement
is not sufcient .
Outside paking is temporary.
No segregation of vehicular and pedestrian
entry .

BUILDING ZONING:
The building is very interactive with the central atrium linked to all corridors.
The central atrium is also used for assembly or functions.
It has vertical zoning and divided into
3 levels which is further divided into two levels.
Ground oor: lower ground oor level and upper ground oor level.
Lower Ground oor level:
it has the same level as parking and includes admin and classrooms.
Few stairs up and via ramp the other part is upper ground level which is at higher
level but the ow of space and gentle slope one could not feel the change in
height.
First Floor level:
Classrooms,Vocational Training workshos, library and open terraces are there .
Second oor Level:
Special Education department ,BED classrooms , staffrooms, Guest Rooms .
Orientation:
Building is east facing , sun shading devices are the designed provided.
But on the southwest side users face the scorching heat during summers so
alternatives should be provided

now turned into store rooms
Classrooms:
The classes are divided according their
actual age and sections are divided according
to IQ and caliber of student.
Classrooms are designed for 7-8 children in
one class.
