STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Learning by curiosity is the only thing the mind never exhausts, never fears, and never
regrets, which will continue the learning process throughout the life. That kept me inspired all
through my life in addition to a sense of astonishment which I felt towards computers where
technology has always amazed me with new developments. This increased curiosity in learning
them. As a very young student in school, when I had first glance at a computer, I thought it was
only a meant for entertainment and play games. Later, I was realized that games were nothing but
computer programs which created in me an urge to explore more. Computers defined a new way
of my life and I knew I wanted to be a part of this advancement of technology. My parents also
encouraged me in pursuing my dream; they also provided me with the right environment for my
primary and secondary education. My strong inclination towards programming, built my
confidence in opting for specialization in Computer Science.
However, my intention to take up a career in Computer Science started with a standard
foundation in mathematics and physical sciences. This basic interest led me to take Mathematics,
Physics and Chemistry as major subjects in high school. I topped my high school with an
aggregate of 97.2%. In this breadth I will proudly state that I have scored 100% in mathematics,
99% and 96% in physics and chemistry respectively at my high school. I took the EAMCET
(Engineering and Medicine Common Entrance Examination) and secured a place in the top 6%
of the 100,000 and more aspirants. This performance helped me to get an admission into VNR
Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, an Autonomous institute under the
reputed Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
My under graduate course curriculum has helped me to acquire strong background in the
fundamentals of the computer science and Engineering subjects like Operating Systems,
Computer architecture and organization, Digital logic and design, Data mining and warehousing,
computer networks, Network security and few more. The course has also sharpened my interest
in Artificial Intillegence and Dataminig and Warehousing.

Artificial Intelligence is the ultimate in automation. Its applications are innumerable. Where ever
man cannot go - be it a site where there are hazardous atomic radiations or one where there is no
oxygen or be it a space station or be it a bottomless ocean. Systems are made to work on a
remote control basis. It is a boon to mankind. Not satisfied with the strides he had made in it,
man continues his research. He wants to realize it in even more complex applications and
achieve greater precisions. One day whatever you think, the machine will do for you. That day
is not far off.
It would be incomplete if I do not mention my favorite subject in my under graduation,
Datamining. I was astonished looking at the applications of Dataminig. It enables you to pull out
almost any information you want. Its extravagant applications instigated a deep interest towards
the subject. Although my under graduation provided me some basic knowledge about it my
interest towards the field drove me to choose masters in computer science with major thrust in
the field of Data mining.
As a part of my undergraduate course I have made a project on a new platform which was
challenging and was well supported by my teammates. After doing a feasibility analysis with our
course instructor, we decided to create a desktop application to mitigate selective jamming
attacks by combining cryptographic primitives at physical layer attributes. We worked on three
algorithms that prevents real-time packet classification .This were developed using java, swing
Jframe builder as the frontend tools. The entire project was a novel learning experience.
Education to me is not just grades. It is something above this. It is the thirst for knowledge,
consistent learning and to acquire leadership qualities. Apart from my academic curriculum, I
also indulged myself in various co and extra-curricular activities. I organized various events
during our college technical fests which have gained tremendous popularity and appreciation .I
also worked as a Team lead for various events in the Technical Fest CONVERGENCE 2K12,
A National level Technical Symposium. At personal level, I worked in the NCC (National Cadet
Corps), an Indian military cadet corps, in my schooling, where I learnt to adapt with the people
around me. This rare opportunity has awakened a sense and purpose in me to help the needy and
as a part of it, I have donated blood during the blood donation camps in our college. On the other
hand, being an outstanding student of my class, I was elected as Placement Coordinator where I

took responsibility to inform all the students about campus drives and also pass on the
instructions to all mates given by the Placement officer. That reflected in me being responsible
towards the work undertaken. By becoming a member of the CSI (computer Society of India) I
became well aware of the improving technologies and got an opportunity to connect with the
industry people and exchange ideas related to the latest technologies. I also participated in many
workshops conducted and certified by CSI, such as ethical hacking, Big Data and various
seminars organized by IEEE society. I received Certificate of merit in a Technical Quiz
conducted at a national level fest. I also made paper and poster presentations in various national
level fests.
Universities in the USA are liberally funded and are constantly in touch with the industry. The
system of education there is ideal for me to realize my study objectives. Your university greatly
appeals to me giving a perfect blend of all ambient atmospheres to pursue my masters and
undertake research in a chosen field of interest..I intend to be a part of your esteemed institution
and I am looking forward for a fruitful association with your university.
