It'sthePainInTheA$$problem
IthinkImanagedtosolveit!
Apparently,youmusthavePermissionssetfor'SYSTEM'in2TempFolders.
Theyare:
C:\Windows\Installer

AND
C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Temp
Itseemsthatnothavingsettherightpermissionssetinanyofthesefolderswillnotallowmicrosoftinstallerto
readthefiles,eventhoughtheyarealreadyinside.
So,theyworkintandem:
IhadanerrorthatstatedthatitwasthefileinC:\Windows\Installerthatcouldnotberead.
Well,Icheckedandfullcontrolwasgivento'SYSTEM'intheinstallerfolder,buttheproblemwasfixedafterI
gave'SYSTEM'permissionsfortheC:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Temp
Howtoaddpermissions:
1.RightclickfolderPropertiesSecuritytab
2.In'Grouporusernames',youshouldhave1.Youraccountnameand2.SYSTEM
3.IfSYSTEMismissing,click'Edit...',then'Add...'
4.In'Enterobjectnamestoselect',keyin'SYSTEM'thenclickOK
5.Clickon'SYSTEM'andmakesure'FullControl'ischeckedinthepermissionswindow
Ifyoucan'tfindthefolders
You'llneedtoshowthemhiddenfolders.
1.Openanywindow...IE'MyComputer'
2.ClickOrganise>FolderandSearchOptions>View>Check'Showhiddenfiles,folders,anddrives'

So,trythisbeforeyoudoacompletereinstallwindows7.Iactuallydidacompletereinstall,onlytohavethe
sameproblemagainafter2weeks....Iwonderwhatcausesit.

createdtosolveproblemslikethislol.
2.Usethistosolveotherproblemswheretheinstallerjustquitsfornoreason.Ibelieveitalsohelpsifyouhave

That,andthefactthatInternetExplorerinWin7seemtohaveproblems'hangingon'tointernetconnectivity.
It'saprettydumbproblem,needingtofixadminitrativepermissionsandhavingthesystemtellyouthatyouneed
permissionwhenYOUaretheadminitrator.

MSSecurityEssentialsUpgradefinallyworked

Ihavebeenthroughmanywebsiteslookingforthe0x8*******error,specificallyinmycasetheerror
0x80070643,andthenusingtheironline"MrFixIt"whichwouldalwaysresultinerror2203.Andtryingtousethe
controlpaneltoreinstall.Netwouldresultinerror2203.
Sotheirinsistencethatotherantivirusprogramswouldinterferewaswrong.
Allthelinkstospecialantivirusuninstallprogramswerepointless.
JustthisonecorrectiontotheirmisconfigurationoftheWin7installerasusedbytheMSEupgradeallowedthis
upgradetocompletelyinstall.
ThisisthescreencaptureofmysuccessfulMicrosoftSecurityEssentialsUpgradeaftercorrectingtheerror2203by
simplychangingthe
C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Temp
folderpermissionstoSystem:
