In my humble opinion, Powers being granted to whomever individual in
the government always have consequences. In a matter of how its
being applied and use its hard to distinguish whether or not the power being discussed is use in good faith. Philippine government can be a very good example to cite. In fact, even history can attest to this claim. From the first republic up to the present setting of the Philippine government, the leadership is always subjected of failed application of government power. From the president or head of the state down to the smallest unit of the government, which is the barangay, Abuse of power always takes into place. One of the best examples to use is how the current Philippine president used his authority in application of his state power. Issues like PDAF and DAF shouldve been abolished if right amount of power was applied in accordance of the law. In my own point of view, according to the news and current events, it came to my attention that if we try to do a through analytical approach it will always come into one thing. The presidents discretion in those allegations always put the gun in his head. When these certain issues came out, it is clearly visible that the president use his power by all means to grant all the possibilities to have this program comes into reality. He has the authority to oversee whether or not this specific program will have negative implications in the different sector of the government. Still he managed to hand over his authority whole-heartedly. I may have sufficient knowledge in politics but in my observation that is how I see it. He whoever abuses the power will take any consequences that will come after. In a perspective of BS Mechanical Engineering student, I barely have sufficient knowledge about politics. Our government has been through a lot of negative implications as far as application of governmental powers is concerned. Whoever holds the thrown that is uneducated and incompetent in the field and exposure of politics will do nothing but negative things towards good government. The next paragraph (5) is information I took from the internet to support my claims about the abuse of power manifested by the current administration Thievery and mismanagement of public funds under the guise of mechanisms such as Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) and Presidential slush funds. This is an example of subtle ways the Aquino government is using taxpayers money unconstitutionally. Ignorant Filipinos and they are the majority do not realize how much of their money the current administration has wasted on nothing of substance. Billions of pesos could be unaccounted for because they were given as bribes to members of Congress who then gave it to fake
NGOs. So far, no one in the Aquino government has been prosecuted
for DAP shenanigans despite the Supreme Courts ruling that the use of savings from another branch is illegal. (http://getrealphilippines.com/blog/2015/10/in-just-6-years-noynoyaquinos-record-of-failure-is-now-worse-than-all-of-the-marcos-years/)
