FAQs
Why are less than 10 copies more expensive?
This is because the cost of 'servicing your subscription' credit card fees / bank charges, setting up the subscription on our
system etc is spread over a shorter period.
Why is there a difference between digital copies & postal ones?
In their wisdom HM Revenue & Customs do not recognise digital copies as being the same as paper ones which are currently
zero rated (ie no VAT) & therefore charge VAT on digital publications at standard rates which amounts to 25p or 22p per
week.
So why not charge one rate & add VAT or post & packing?
Because it's more than likely that HMRC would deem p&p as a separate service & then we'd have to charge VAT on it
(complicated isn't it!). We are able to quantify the costs & we estimate that it costs £1.28 per subscriber per week to produce
a copy of CJS & then an additional 75p to print & post a copy each week.
