ABSTRAK

Universitas Diponegoro menawarkan berbagai beasiswa dari berbagai instansi untuk

mahasiswanya. Mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan untuk menentukan beasiswa yang sesuai
dengan kapasitas mereka karena terlalu banyak jumlah beasiswa yang ditawarkan dengan
kriteria dan syarat-syarat tertentu yang berbeda. Data mining merupakan penambangan
atau penemuan informasi baru dengan mencari pola atau aturan tertentu dari sejumlah data
dalam jumlah besar yang diharapkan dapat mengatasi kondisi tersebut. Dengan
memanfaatkan data pelamar beasiswa yang memiliki beberapa atribut diharapkan dapat
menghasilkan informasi tentang rules atau aturan sebagai acuan dalam pemilihan beasiswa
oleh mahasiswa menggunakan metode decision tree. Aplikasi ini dibuat dengan tujuan
untuk dapat melakukan klasifikasi jenis beasiswa di Universitas Diponegoro dengan
memanfaatkan algoritma klasifikasi C4.5 yang akan menghasilkan informasi berupa
decision rules dari data pelamar beasiswa. Manfaat dari aplikasi ini adalah memberikan
bahan pertimbangan oleh mahasiswa dalam memilih jenis beasiswa yang sesuai. Selain itu,
aplikasi ini dapat menampilkan hasil perhitungan, pohon keputusan, pembagian data, hasil
kinerja dan tentunya hasil keputusan jenis beasiswa yang sesuai dengan kriteria mahasiswa
berdasarkan decision rules. Aplikasi ini diimplementasikan dengan menggunakan bahasa
pemrograman PHP dan sistem manajemen basis data MySQL. Hasil pengukuran kinerja
data mining berdasarkan keakuratan prediksi didapatkan nilai rata-rata precision, recall,
dan accuracy dari masing-masing kelas melebihi angka 50%.

ABSTRACT

Diponegoro University offers various scholarships from various institutions for its
students. Students find it difficult to determine the scholarship according to their capacity
because of too much amount of the scholarships offered by different criteria and different
certain conditions. Data mining is a mining or the discovery of new information by looking
for patterns or certain rules of a number of large amounts of data which is expected to treat
the condition. By utilizing the data scholarship applicants who have some attributes are
expected to generate information about the rules or rules as reference in the election of
student scholarships by using decision tree method. This application was created with the
purpose to be able to classify types of scholarships at the University of Diponegoro by
utilizing the C4.5 classification algorithm that will produce information in the form of
decision rules from the data scholarship applicants. Benefits of this application is to
provide consideration by the student in choosing the appropriate type of scholarship. In
addition, the application can display the results of calculations, decision trees, partition of
data, the results of the performance and of course the result of a decision in accordance
with the type of scholarship students based on the criteria of decision rules. This
application implemented by using PHP programming language and MySQL database
management system. The result of data mining performance measurement based on the
accuracy of the predictions obtained average values of precision, recall, and accuracy of
each class exceeding 50%.
