The Meaning of Gambaru

Ganbaru ( , lit., stand firm), also romanized as
Gambaru, is a ubiquitous Japanese word
that often translated to mean "doing ones
best", but in practice, it means doing more
than one's best. The word emphasizes
"working with perseverance"or "toughing it
out."Ganbaru means "to commit oneself fully
to a task and to bring that task to an end." It
can be translated to mean persistence,
tenacity, doggedness and hard work.

Characters of Gambaru
According to the Japanese Dictionary,
GAMBARU means: "doko made mo nintai
shite doryoku suru", persevere your
efforts through and through.
Never give up, never lose hope, it's the
struggles and the process that's
important.
In writing,GAMBARU comes from 2
characters, "hard" and "tighten.
No matter the hardships we face, we
need to harden ourselves and hold tight
to our belief to face the challenges.

Examples
Children learning to wear thin clothes in winter, so
they are not spoiled against cold weather.At school
children should not wear socks, because people
think that hitting the floor immediately is good for
health. If it was just a mild cold sore, or fever of 37
degrees do not have to skip school,with reason,
the child will be strong to face the disease if they
against the disease by theirself.
After an earthquake with a strength of 9.0 followed
by a tsunami in eastern Japan that become the
worst earthquake and tsunami in the world.Very

putting out.

Strength of Japan
This country is so amazing, a country
that is poor of natural resources, a
country that time after time put to the
test by nature,but is so technologically
and mentally advanced because of their
GAMBARU. It's safe to say that Japanese
people have nothing but GAMBARU, and
apparently it's more than enough to
brace any challenges thrown in their
faces.
