MUSIC AND
LITERACY
An innovative programme designed to enhance literacy skills and increase competence in
creative writing. Our unique approach uses song-writing, music performance & production to
develop literacy skills in an indirect way. Learners will get to analyse song lyrics from current
artists to explore literary techniques such as themes, symbolism, metaphor, simile and many
others. They will then begin to write their own lyrics, which will later be performed and
recorded with the help of our tutors.
