Causes of an Ineffective Presentation

There are certain causes of an ineffective presentation:
First of all, while presenting avoid using verbal fillers, like um, uh, er and
words like you
know, kind of, like.
Do not put your hands in your pocket when you are presenting.
And do not think at that particular moment that you are the center of
attention of the audience. Just think about the information you are providing
them If you are excited about what you want to say, your audience will too.

Text of slides is a backup for the speaker but it does not mean that speaker
read all dialogues from the slides. Explanation should be in the mind of
speaker and he needs to explain them through words, actions and body
language.
Full sentences will confuse audience and will be a cause of bad
presentation. All text should be brief and better if only a single line,
sentence, in points or an illustration.
Small text which is unreadable will also be a cause of bad communication.
36.9 % of visuals are too complex to understand.
Your appearance matters a lot in your presentation that how you dress up,
too casual or too formal. So, you have to keep balance between them.

Everyone can be an Effective Presenter

First impression is the last impression, so start presentation with a bang to
set attention, be warm and friendly, provide facts and figures and do not be
afraid.
Maintain good eye contact with the audience, and do not read your
presentation.
Speak to the audience not to the visuals.
Do not put your hands in your pockets for long time. Stand straight, look
like you are happy to be there.
Speak clearly and loudly enough. Change your volume but according to the
need.
Give yourself to the audience, and get the audience involved in your
presentation. Focus on what your audience needs to know.
A smile will make your audience feel good about you and will help you to
speak with confidence and ease.
Never apologize, confess or make excuses.
Give the audience all the enthusiasm you want back.

Thanks the audience for listening.
