Introduction

Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans) is widely grown across the tropics region, and mostly cultivated in
Eastern Island of Indonesia such as Banda, Ceram, Papua and other minor islands.

Objectives
The objectives of this research are (1) to understand genetic relation among Myristica spp. revealed by
Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) marker; (2)

Where the research to be conducted

Collection of nutmeg and their relatives germplasm will take place at nutmeg growing area in Banda
Island, Buru Island, Ceram Island, and Papua Island. Genetic diversity analysis will be conducted at
Lampung State Polytechnics Lab. Analysis

Materials and methods

Plant materials and collection:
Around 11 (eleven) of Myristica species will be sampled by taking their vegetative or generative parts
according to sample availability, and approximately 10 accessions within species to be sampled. It
would be 110 of Myristica accessions by minimum sample.
Ex-situ conservation:
Those accession will be grown in trial field located at Lampung State Polytechnic by using modified
standard protocol of nutmeg cropping system according to Nybe et al. and Anandaraj (2011).
