Staff Leavers
Mrs Sue Hebditch who worked in our School Office as our
Business Manager, retired from Tatworth Primary, after
26 years with the school. Sue is going to be sorely
missed. She has been a huge asset and her experience
will be difficult to replace, I thank her for her many
years of service to the school. We will all miss her
friendliness and approachability and on behalf of the
school we would like to wish her an enjoyable and
relaxing retirement. Mrs Cathryn Henson is leaving from
our lunch time supervisor team, we wish her well for the
future and we welcome Mrs Cheryl Farley and Mrs
Lorraine Nunn to our team in January.
Donations Please
Books: We would be pleased if anyone has any David
Walliams books they would like to donate to our school
library. They are very popular in school and it would be
lovely to have more copies.
Comics & Top Trumps:
We would also like
donations of comics and top trumps for use during wet
playtimes. Thank you.

FEBRUARY GARDENER
Pests
Our beloved gardeners friends, slugs and snails bless
them, will now be so ecstatically happy and in
March/April they will start reproducing big time from
earlier perfect soggy conditions. So be warned and
try with tough gloves to remove them yourself at night
or early morning (horrible job but better than slug
pellets that kill hedgehogs and other animals and pets!).
We will have fewer of our wonderful hedgehog friends,
blackbirds, thrushes and other ground feeders sadly
unless we all pull together and provide appropriate
conditions for them.
So while we dont all appreciate bitter cold weather
or excessive wet weather, horticulture needs it in
moderation and aquatic-moisture plants adore it, so
have a look around for some selections in the garden
centres (Forde Abbey have a good specialist aquatic
section).
I will be on a Botanical Tour in February and March so
hope to follow up with some interesting reports of plants
growing in tropical conditions.
