15.00.00.0067).

CADWorx Plant
Apply Change Data Rule Updates

You can turn updates on or off for Layer/color in the Apply Change Data Rule. You can change the
updates in the Pipe Rules section of the CADWorx Plant Setup.
Benefit: The ability to control how you affect the layer and color of your model when using the
CONVERTFROMPRJDATA command. This option improves design modeling, allowing for more
project control of your layers.

Male and Female Threaded Needle Valves

You can create threaded needle valves with male threaded by female threaded ends.
Benefit: The ability to model mixed end valves including male by female threaded needle valves,
improves design modeling by allowing you to use standard mixed end valves in CADWorx and
ISOGEN.

Routing Mitered Elbows

You can route mitered elbows using the Miter Elbow Buttweld elbow type or from the component
List. Make sure your specification has a Mitered elbow, click Route, and then select elBow type on
the command line to receive the Mitered Elbow Buttweld option.
Benefit: Adding mitered elbows to the routing capabilities of CADWorx, adds to the efficiency of
designing piping runs when the designer requires mitered elbows.

Cross or Tee with Reducer

You can now insert a cross and a tee with reducers. The software bases the size of the component
on the connected branch of the other component. Use the Branch tab to set the Straight Tee/Cross
+ Reducer option. Then, set the Apply Branch Table Rule to Automatic for CADWorx to check the
branch table and provide the Cross + Reducer and Tee + Reducer options.
Benefit: The ability to automatically add a reducing component to a tee or cross, decreases the time
needed to create a reducing branch connection from a straight tee or cross.

Skewed Piping

You can create skewed piping and set a maximum angle for the skew with the Apply Skew Pipe
Maximum Angle rule. Set the Apply Skew Pipe Maximum Angle rule in the Piping Rules of the
CADWorx Plant Setup. The setting you set here determines the maximum angle allowed when
drawing a skewed pipe. Click Route, and then select sKew on the command line to draw a skewed
pipe.
Benefit: With this new setting, you can control the skewed pipe angle to prevent unrealistic angles in
the pipeline design. This helps to keep consistent design standards during the model development.

Override Custom Data

You can type a value in Default Value of the Custom Data tab in the CADWorx Spec View palette
to override the custom data from the Specification Editor. If you set up custom data with the List
option, you can select an item from the Default Value to apply it as an override.
Benefit: The ability to override custom data gives the designer more control of the drawing data. If the
custom data included in the specification is not what the designer needs, he now has the ability to
change that custom data which improves project control, catalog control, and design modeling.

Select List of Custom Data

You can select from a list of items when editing custom data in the Component Custom Data dialog
box accessed in the Component Edit dialog box. You can also do the same in the Custom Data
dialog box accessed in the Global CEdit dialog box. To accomplish this, you must create custom
data using the new List option available in the Specification Editor.
Benefit: The ability to create custom lists allows the administrator and designer more control over the
selection of custom data in the model. The administrator can provide a list of items for the designer to
choose from in the drawing or specify them directly in the specification. This improves efficiency in
project control, catalog control, and design modeling when using custom data.

Short Description for Material List

When setting up a user defined material list in the ISOGEN Configuration panel, you can now use
the attribute name -80 to display the short description column with text wrapping when running
ISOGEN Out
. To set the -80 attribute, open I-Configure, select an isometric style, click Edit, click
Material Drawing List, and then set create or set the -80 Attribute in User Defined Columns.
Benefit: ISOGEN created the ISOGEN Control Panel to make it easier to define details of an isometric
drawing. Using this latest ISOGEN allows for better model deliverables and an easier setting up of
extensive short descriptions that display in the material list for isometric drawings. Now, it is as simple
as making a template with short description, and then assigning the -80 attribute in the ISOGEN
Control Panel.

Curved Piping ISOGEN

You can generate isometric drawings for curved piping by setting the Threshold in ISOGEN
Configuration to greater than 0. Generate these drawings by creating an adjustable bend, setting the
ISOGEN Data dialog box SKEY to PB** (** designates a valid ISOGEN end type), and then running
ISOGEN Out
or ISOGEN Batch .
Benefit: The ability to properly ISOGEN curved piping around a vessel or tank. This option improves
design modeling when you use the BENT command for an adjustable bend.

SYSVIS Updates for Taps

You can turn visibility of TAPs on or off in the system layer with the SYSVIS command.
Benefit: The ability to control when taps display in the drawing. This allows for improved design
modeling and better control of the system layer by allowing you to turn taps on and off for cleaner
deliverables.

Swage End Type Descriptions

The software allows descriptions of end types for swages. Set the PipeDescriptionCat variable to 1,
2, 5, or 6 for swage end types to display on the long description.
Benefit: The ability to show the end type of a swage in the long description improves design modeling,
allowing you to display more data information for CADWorx components.

Change Size Updates for Tees

You have more options when you use CHANGESIZE to change the size of a tee.
Benefit: The ability to change size has always been an important tool for a designer. CADWorx
improved upon this feature to provide more options when changing the size of a tee, so that you have
the ability to change sizes of tees in any scenario improving design modeling.

O-Lets on Tangents

You can insert O-Lets on the tangent of a bend or an elbow.

Benefit: Allowing branch components to be placed anywhere on another component gives the
designer the freedom needed to complete the required pipeline designs.

Moving Components

You can move and connect Socket and Threaded components to straight buttweld components. The
software automatically deletes all extra welds.
Benefit: The ability to move different end type components and connect them is an import part of
design modeling. To improve on this feature, CADWorx implemented moving socket or threaded
components and attaching them to straight buttweld components.

Copy Nozzle Generic Attach

You can now copy the nozzle generic attachments with the applied xdata.
Benefit: The ability to copy components with data included improves efficiency when modeling. This
now allows you to place more than one same type generic nozzles as needed without having to
reenter the data.

Custom Data in MSSQL Database

The software now includes the custom data fields in the MSSQL database.
Benefit: The ability to insert custom data in a model is an important feature of design. The database,
including that data, is just as vitally important for model management. To improve design time,
CADWorx implemented including the custom data in the MSSQL database.

Deletion of Steel Components in Database

You can remove all component data from a database with SDBAUDIT.
Benefit: The ability to have a clean database in a quick turnaround is important to model management
and design. Improving design time, CADWorx supports deletion of all components from the database
that you have removed from the model when you run SDBAUDIT.

Repeatability Return in Isogen Configuration Panel

You can now enable the Repeatability return report in the I-Configure ISOGEN Configuration
Panel. This feature was controlled by the RepeatFile option in the previous version of I-Configure.
Enabling the repeatability report defines start and split locations for consecutive ISOGEN outputs. Set
the ISOGENSetting variable to control the import of the repeat file data. The number of sheets then
adds to the ISOGEN Data dialog box.
Benefit: ISOGEN created the ISOGEN Control Panel to make it easier to define details of an
isometric drawing. In implementing this feature, CADWorx made sure to rework existing features such
as the RepeatFile option being moved to the Repeatability return report section.

CAESAR II 2014 Compatibility

You can now use CAESAR II 2014 when exporting a CADWorx model to CAESAR II. Set the version
of CAESAR II in the CAESARIIVersion variable.
