IDEAZ PAPER PRESENTATION

Department of Civil Engineering has always been actively carrying out

innovative research work in its department. To receive inputs from across
the world, we bring the competition Ideaz.

IDEAZ A
You can present your research paper in the mentioned six disciplines of
civil engineering:
Structural, Hydraulic and Geotechnical Engineering
Geomatics, Environmental and Transportation Engineering

Coordinator:

IDEAZ B - Infrastructural Development

Given below are two problem statements. You can pick any one of them to
participate.
1. Improving transport facilities in the hilly areas
People in hilly areas face a lot of trouble in moving from one place to
other.
Public transport is inefficient and less frequent.
Large public transit systems are not feasible for the hills.
People have to walk miles on steep hilly roads to meet their daily
requirements.
We need some efficient and economical transport system.
Eg: a tram service
2. Disposal of solid wastes from modern cities
Cities nowadays are becoming crowded because of which a huge
amount of solid wastes are generated every day.
It has become quite difficult to deal with such amount of solid waste.
These wastes when left for longer time starts giving foul smell and
when made to pass through drains, blocks the entire sewage system.
We need to develop some eco-friendly innovative idea to deal with it.
The technique used should be feasible as well as economical in
nature.

General Rules:
1. Any undergraduate or masters student of any discipline is eligible to
participate in this event. However PhD students and research scholars are
not allowed to present their papers.
2. Each team may have a maximum of three members.
3. No team is allowed to send more than one entry for the same
departmental cell, but you are free to send multiple entries provided your
papers are related to different cells.

has been clarified below.

STAGE-I:
Abstract Submissions

to civil@cognizance.org.in.
2) Abstract should not exceed 500 words and the covering page of the
abstract must have
Name(s), Institution of study, Email address(es), Contact
number(s), Name of the cell you wish to present the paper in,
Topic of paper presentation & Cogni-IDs of all the team members.
3) Your email should have the category name as your subject and your file
name should have the title of the concerned paper.
For Example, a paper on simulation of a Hydrocracker unit in a refinery
unit should have its mail subject as IDEAZ: Modelling, Simulation, Design
and Process Control: COG16/XXXXX and its title as Simulation of
Hydrocracker unit.
4) Selection to the next round for final presentations will be based on the
abstract submitted.
5) Deadline for Abstract Submissions is 8th February 2016.
6) The result for the first round will be put up on the website till 15th
