ABSTRACT
This study intends to analyze the relationship between entrepreneurs
demographical characteristics and business growth of iron melting in Mandalay
Industrial Zone. Demographical characteristics are age, gender, education and prior
experience. Business growth consists of sales growth and employee growth. 100
entrepreneurs in iron melting industry are interviewed. Correlation coefficient
between each character and each growth are calculated. With respect to demographic
factors, it is found that majority of respondents are is the age group between 30-39,
the number of male participant, is higher than female participants, majority are
married and majority of prior work are business owner. In regard with sales growth
and employees growth, business owner and married participants are higher than other
participants. The main suggestions are that entrepreneurship should be more promoted
in Mandalay Industrial Zone and other areas with the aid of government. This can
hole the national development by competition with products produced from others
countries and by creation of new jobs leading to reducing unemployment rate.
