Objective: To utilize the skills I have obtained in a career as a Police Chief that has provide me
many years of success. My goal is to continue to contribute in a positive way to the profession
that I have been privileged to serve in. I have been very successful in my efforts to bring
progressive thought and non-traditional solutions to each organization I have been privileged to
lead and would like to continue that with an organization that serves the needs of law
enforcement and government. I am energetic and able to adjust to changing demographic and
economic situations rapidly, which has been demonstrated in my most recent successes, both
in Greenacres as well as Cocoa, Florida.

Director of Public Safety Current position, 2+ years.

City of Greenacres
Greenacres, FL. 33467
Oversee both police and fire/rescue operations and have reorganized the public safety function
as it is no longer a fully integrated operation. The reorganizing of the Department to expand road
patrol and traffic functions to address increased gang and drug activity occurring in Palm Beach
County and establishing joint programs with the School Board Police as well as the County
Sheriff has been a major achievement.

Chief of Police 4+ years.

Cocoa, FL. 32922
Directed an organization from the least professional in the County to one of the most recognized,
to include assisting other agencies with major investigations, and achieving State accreditation in
less than two years without going through the traditional mock site visit. I initiated efforts that led
to the reduction of violent crime within the City by more than 20% in three years, as well as the
formation of a street crimes unit to address City “hot spots” and the crime within them. I
supervised the establishing of the Department as one of the most diverse in the County,
reflecting the City demographics.

Deputy Chief & Chief of Police 3.5 years.

City of Inkster
Inkster, MI. 48141
Initially hired as the Deputy Chief and later promoted to Chief I lead the efforts which saw a
significant reduction in violent crime, particularly homicide, within the City that had a minority
population of over 70%. The reorganization of the department and the re-writing of the entire
policy and procedures manual was my greatest accomplishment, leading to accreditation, and
an elevated trust by the community.
Chief of Police 3+ years.
City of Memphis
Memphis, MI. 48041
I took over a depart ment that had not had a Chief in six months and that been
in litigation with the previous chief f or that per iod of time. I created policy
where there was none and was highly successf ul in increasing the size of the
department via grants, by obt aining more than six grants in three years. I was
able to provide new vehicles and much needed equipment as well as lead
several Count y- wide eff orts in traff ic and drug enf orcement.
Chief of Police 1 year.
Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians
Petoskey, MI. 49770
This position was one of enormous challenge, in that it was designed to build a
police department f rom the ground up. The process was both challenging as
well as exciting, allowing me to be creat ive and challenged simultaneously. The
opportunit y to work with another culture such as t he Odawa is not of ten f ound
and it proved to be enormously enr iching. I accomplished all of the expected
goals well in advance of the given time lines and was able to provide the Tribe
with a f oundation that would allow rapid and consistent growt h.
Director, Washtenaw Police Academy 8 years.
Washtenaw Community College
Ann Arbor, MI. 48016
I pioneered the addit ion of a Police Academy and the I n- Ser vice Training
component. This academ y grew in reputation Stat e wide and was f requently a
pilot test site f or new courses and was a recognized leader f or its innovat ive
method of training and advancements. During my tenure I also taught classes in
the academic program, including crim inal justice, sociology, and took courses in
f ire science and ser ved as the Department Chair of f ive disciplines.
