Executive Board Application

Positions:

President
The primary responsibility of the President is to convene and chair all official meetings of
the organization. The President must also be the focal voice when representing the
organization. He/She is also the primary liaison between the organization and the Asian/
Asian Pacific American Students’ Coalition as well as the community. He/She shall be
responsible for setting up and monitoring the functional organs of the organization.
He/She shall be responsible for monitoring the responsibilities of all other officers of the
organization, as well as for the dispersion of responsibilities and tasks of all other
officers of the organization. He/She has the ability to appoint new positions as seen fit (if
there happens to be a case of termination of any officer during the semester). The
President shall also professionally represent the organization and the organization’s
interests at university and community events
Vice President
The Vice-President shall assist the President in carrying out all the responsibilities of the
President, including but not limited to monitoring responsibilities of the President, in the
even that the President is absent or unable to resume in his/her capacity.
Treasurer
The Treasurer shall be responsible for managing the funds of the organization. He/She
shall be responsible for reporting the budget at every official meeting. He/She must
actively engage and assist in filling out funding forms, funding requests, and any
additional forms necessary for events on behalf of the organization. He/She must also
be responsible for depositing funds into the organization’s account immediately after a
fundraising event. The Treasurer shall also collaborate with the Public Relations
Representative to propose for funds at Asian Coalition meetings
Secretary
The Secretary shall be responsible for recording and distributing minutes for all
organization meetings. He/She shall be responsible for coordinating and maintaining all
members’ contact information as well as the list-serve while actively communicating and
responding to emails from members. He//She is also responsible for posting
announcements of events or forums held by the organization. He/She shall also
collaborate with the Historian to electronically post up pictures and documents.
Public Relations
The Public Relations Representative shall be responsible for attending all Asian
Coalition Meetings and reporting information on announcements and upcoming events
back to back to officers at official meetings. He/She shall collaborate with the Treasurer
to propose funds at Asian Coalition Meetings. He/She is also responsible to network
between the organization and other organization on or off-campus. He/She shall also be
responsible for verbally and actively recruiting and retaining members by way of
maintaining close contact with members

**Must be a current active member and also an ASU student (must still be attending fall 2010 to Spring
2011). The executive board term will be one academic year (August to May) and will include brief summer
meetings for preparations.**
