PentiumII 233 MHz or faster
Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP
An available USB port (most computers manufactured after June 1998 are USB
enabled)
32 MB RAM (64 MB or more recommended)
8x CD-ROM drive
400 MB hard drive space available
SVGA Monitor supporting 800 x 600 display & 16-bit color
16-bit Sound Blaster compatible or 100% Windows compatible sound card and
speakers

WARNING**
Computers with only 32 MB RAM and an onboard video card:

Your machine has only 32 MB of RAM which is shared by your video chip since your
video card does not have on-board video RAM. For best DM2 performance, please set
your video display to 256 colors and restart your computer. Change video settings under
C: Desktop/My computer/Control Panel/Display/Settings. For best performance with the
DM2, you will want to increase your RAM to 64megs or more or add a Video card with
onboard Video Ram."
----------B) INSTALL/UNINSTALL TIPS
1. Installing the Program/Calibrating the Controller
a. Start your Windows Operating System (turn your computer on!)
b. Make sure that no other audio programs are running, including Internet audio streams.
c. For rock solid performance without hiccups, it is best to disable programs that are
connected to the Internet, like IM and e-mail.
d. Remove the CD from its protective case and place it in the CD-ROM drive of your
computer.
e. If the Auto Play feature is enabled, installation of the program will begin automatically;
just follow the onscreen instructions. To launch the install program manually, click Start
on the Windows (R) taskbar and select Run. Type d:\Setup.exe (the "d" refers to the letter
assigned to the CD-ROM drive in your computer. Your drive might be assigned a
different letter.)
f. Once the software install has been completed, you will be prompted to plug the DM2
controller into the USB port. Once the controller is plugged in, click OK to continue.
g. follow the DM2 Controller calibration routine to ensure that your Controller functions
properly when mixing. If the calibration routine is interrupted, it can be accessed again
through Start/Programs/DM2/Calibrate DM2 Controller.exe
2. Starting the Program after it has been installed
a. make sure that the DM2 Controller is plugged into the USB port on your computer
before attempting to start the program.
b. Double-click on the DM2 icon on the desktop.
c. if your system does not set up a desktop icon, the program can be accessed through
Start/Programs/DM2/Start DM2

3. Uninstalling the Program

a. the program may be uninstalled through Start/Programs/DM2/Remove DM2
b. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the uninstall process.

---------D) GENERAL TIPS AND TROUBLESHOOTING
General Tips:
1. playdigitalblue.com/tech_support provides basic technical support, general information
on using the product and retail purchase issues.
2. www.Mixman.com/dm2 is the place to register (get a free song), look for updates and
patches, get more music and learn more about the full power of Mixman. Once registered
with Mixman you will get updates and info including power user Tips & Tricks.
3. If the program will not launch from either the desktop icon or the Start menu, make
sure that the DM2 Controller is plugged in properly. The software will not run without
the controller pugged in to the USB port on your computer.
4. On Windows 2000 and XP, users must be logged in as an administrator to install or use
the DM2 properly.
Troubleshooting:

This section discusses performance issues you might encounter as you use the DM2 and
CD-ROM.
1. Computers with only 32 MB RAM and an onboard video card: An onboard video card
does not have it's own supply of RAM, so the RAM that it needs must be shared with
your system RAM, which is only at 32MB. The DM2 needs a minimum of 32MB of
RAM to operate properly. If your system has these two specifications, the system is
actually running at less than the minimum specification required. This problem may be
solved by changing the display settings for the monitor to 256 colors, so that it is not as
taxing on the system memory. The best solution is to purchase more RAM for your
computer.
2. Failure to access Remix Studio: If you are able to enter the DM2 program but cannot
completely load a song selection or cannot enter the Remix Studio, your computer does
not have enough RAM to support this application in it's current state. Follow the steps
above to use the program.
3. Music stuttering/poor performance: if you are playing tracks and the music is skipping
or stuttering, you may need to change your Latency settings. By changing these settings,
it gives the computer a chance to catch up to the sounds that you are making.
Do the following steps:
- stop the music
- from the Remix Studio, enter Options
- go to the Sound Card selection
- change the settings to the following:
Minimum: 4
Normal: 12
Maximum: 36
MaxVoices: 36
Editor: 50
If you continue to have problems with sound playback, you can contact
support@mixman.com.
4. If your music sounds flat or unintelligible: the DM2 software is designed to handle
standard two-track stereo. If your computer is configured to support 3D, surround or
some other positional audio separation scheme, you may not hear true stereo separation in
your mixes. If necessary, you might wish to consult your soundcard and speaker
documentation to determine how to disable positional sound.
5. No sound: verify that the Crossfader is not positioned so that no sound comes out of
the turntable being played. Check the Volume Settings on Windows master volume
controls and verify that it is not muted. Check the sound card connection.

*If these steps do not work, refer to your Computer Manual to make sure that you have
the connector plugged into the USB.
6. Screensavers, system standby, hibernate, and other system power-saving options may
cause problems with the running of the DM2 application. Suspending these functions
while running the DM2 application will alleviate these issues.
7. If your application or system freezes up while attempting to run the DM2 application,
please update your sound card drivers, reboot your system, and launch the DM2
application again. If the problem persists, please contact technical support.
