About the Programme

Application Form

Simulation plays a very important role in designing complex systems such as power electronic circuits. A
number of software packages are available to simulate power electronic circuits at the present time. With
simulation, it is possible to quickly find out the effect of circuit parameters on the circuit performance,some
of the time-consuming and expensive prototyping steps can be avoided. For these reasons, simulation
has become an important component in academic and also in industrial design processes. In this course
two IEEE transaction papers (one in the Forenoon session and another in the afternoon session) will be
explained and simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK.

The Karpagam College of Engineering, established

in the year 2000, is an Autonomous Institution,

The Department of Electrical and Electronics

Engineering was started in the year 2002. The
department got accredited in the year 2009.
The Department has organized many Workshops
and Conferences over the years.The department
has well experienced faculty members, established
laboratories with leading engineering software
like ETAP, PSCAD, MATLAB, Multisim and
Edraw. M/S. National Instruments (I) Pvt. Ltd,
Bangalore sponsored LabVIEW Academy, a centre
of excellence in Virtual Instrumentation possesses
latest software and hardware for Research and
development. Totally 10 Batches, around 500
participants from various domain were benefited
through this LabVIEW Academy. The department
also has PLC programming laboratory certified by B
& R Industrial Automation, Pune, which enhances
the knowledge in embedded systems.
