THE WEATHER

Introduccin:
There are places where it rains a lot and others where it never rains. There
are places where it's always warm and others that are permanently covered
with snow. There are areas where it is very cold in winter and hot in
summer, and others where it seems that it is always summer because the
heat is intense in all seasons.
Therefore we say that there are different climates, but ... what is weather?

Definition:
The weather is the result of the interaction of different atmospheric,
biophysical
and geographical factors, which may change over time
and space. These factors include temperature, atmospheric pressure, wind,
humidity and rain. In addition, some biophysical and geographic factors can
determine the climate in different parts of the world, such as latitude,
altitude, water bodies, distance to the sea, heat, ocean currents, rivers and
vegetation.

Types of climates:

Hot climates:
Warm climates are located on both sides of Ecuador. From
Ecuador to the tropics the three main types of warm weather
occur: The equatorial, tropical and desert climate.

Warm climates in the world are ideal for enjoying a summer

afternoon.
1. Equatorial climate:
High and constant temperaturas.
Abundant and constant rain throughout the year.
Landscape: Jungle.
rivers,
the Congo River.

In this climate they develop two of the world's largest

the
Amazon
and

2. Desert climate:
High and constant temperaturas.
Low rainfall.
Desert landscape.
In this climate both plant and animal life are very slim.
3. Tropical climate:
High and constant temperaturas.
Variables Precipitation: wet season and dry season.
Landscape: Savanna.

Asian countries such as Indonesia and India have dry

and humid tropical climate.
Temperate climates:
Temperate climates are more favorable for people. They are
characterized by mild temperatures and the succession of four
distinct by temperature and precipitation seasons: spring,
summer, autumn and winter.
People prefer to live in temperate zones for the quality of
life it offers.
1. Mediterranean climate:

Mild winter and high temperatures in summer.

Variables Precipitation: wet dry season in summer and in
spring and autumn.
Landscape: Mediterranean forest.

Spring is the most pleasant and beautiful time of year in

the Mediterranean
climate zones.
2. Continental climate:

Very contrasting extreme temperatures in summer and very

cold in winter.
Variables Precipitation: abundant in summer and lower in
winter.
Landscape: boreal forest and prairie.
Most boreal forest is in North America.

3. Oceanic climate:

Mild temperatures in both summer and winter by the

proximity to the sea.
Constant and abundant rainfall throughout the year.
Landscape: deciduous forest.

Ocean rivers have abundant and regular water flow throughout

the year due to continuous rains.

Cold climates:
They are difficult places for life due to the intense cold and the
difficulty to exploit the resources.
The coldest city in the world is in Finland, his name is
Rovaniemi and is known as the city of Santa Claus.
1. Polar:

Temperatures below zero throughout the year.

Low rainfall throughout the year.
Landscape: Tundra.

This climate is not conducive to the man, so these areas

are sparsely populated, especially since the territory is not layer feed a
population.

2. High mountain climate:

Temperatures below zero throughout the year.

Abundant rainfall throughout the year as snow.
Landscape: sparse vegetation: sunny and shady.

Many climbers scaled the Everest proud to say they have

reached the top of the highest mountain in the world.
