Downward momentum in stocks likely to
continue; WPI data key
Downward momentum in the stock market is
likely to continue for some more time and trading
sentiment would be further guided by
announcement of wholesale inflation data
tomorrow, say experts. Market sentiment may
also take a hit in view of terror attacks in Paris
Friday night, they added. "Markets to look out
for external cues as the domestic result season is
over for now. Hopes of a liftoff in the US interest
rates and the after effects will make markets
oscillate with a downward bias. "Market
movement may depend upon trend in global
markets, investment by foreign investors,
movement of rupee against the dollar and WPI
data to be announced on November 16. Fed's
decision on interest rate will act as major trigger
for the Indian market," said Vivek Gupta, CMT Director Research, CapitalVia Global Research
Limited. Indian economy is still not out of the
woods as industrial production slackened to a
four-month low of 3.6 per cent while retail
inflation inched up to 5 percent.

Bank credit growth still lingers in H1 as debt
market soars
Bank credit growth continued to disappoint
during first half of the current fiscal with an
annual growth of just 8.4 per cent at Rs 62.02
trillion (Rs 62.02 lakh crore), down 20 bps, as
per Care Ratings. Debt market growth was,
however, robust with debt issuances increasing
18.6 per cent. Reflecting the lingering pain of the
manufacturing sector, which accounts for 42 per
cent of bank credit, the demand remained
negative yet again. Services come second at 23
per cent of the total and agriculture at third with
a share of 13 per cent and personal loans 20 per
cent. The sectors that saw y-o-y growth are
personal loans at Rs 12.55 trillion up 7.6 per cent
from 5.3 per cent; consumer durables at Rs 0.16
trillion up 5 per cent, but down from 11.1 per
cent and home loans at Rs 6.83 trillion, up 8.6

Malaysia to tighten security for ASEAN
summit
"It's an act of war committed by a terrorist army,
Daech (Islamic State), a jihadist army," French
PresidentFrancois Hollande said on Saturday. "It
is an act of war prepared, organized, planned
from outside and with internal complicities that
the investigation will confirm," Hollande said. "It
is an act of absolute barbarism," Xinhua quoted
him as saying. Given the severity of the Friday
night terror attacks in Paris that left 127 people
dead, Hollande announced a three-days national
mourning. "The country is in sorrow, I made a
decree to extend the national mourning for three
days. Under the state of emergency, the police
and army are mobilized, and I salute their
courage," he said. The president assured that "all
security measures" will be taken.

FreeCharge refreshes app to attract new
users
When Suchi Mukherjee decided to start a womancentric online fashion discovery business in 2012,
several investors she approached laughed her out
of the room. With a background at internet
ventures such as Skype and then Gumtree, an
eBay company, she certainly knew the market
well. Yet, potential backers couldn't fathom why
someone with Mukherjee's pedigree would chase
women consumers, who at the time constituted
under a fifth of India's online population and an
even smaller sliver of actual cost.
