Workshop Engineer (for an Oil & Gas Company)

Candidate will be responsible for managing the workshop functions and day-today workshop activities.
Coordinate various internal and external audits including the certification&
compliance for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 systems.
Responsible for the development and update of system procedures, method
statements, work instructions and check lists related to workshop operations,
plant maintenance support services and for the maintenance of workshop
assets, reports.
Ensure systems and procedures are followed for all workshop related activities,
review the generated records for proper documentation. Develop tasks for
estimation of man-hours, material and resources.
Responsible for accurate data entry, ensure manpower and resources are
effectively utilized and implement safe work practices.
Responsible to coordinate with Plant Operations, Maintenance, Planning,
Warehouse, Procurement and Commercial departments for smooth functioning
of workshop.
Coordinate with Plant operations, maintenance, warehouse, procurement &
commercial departments and other contractors, third parties, vendors and
service providers to effectively manage the workshop activities. Should be
familiar with various codes and standards applicable in oil and gas industries.
Expert in reading engineering drawings and be able to define and develop work
process flows.
Shall be familiar with pre-qualification and inspection requirements for
fabrication & welding activities, both shop pre-fabrication as well as in-situ
hooking.
Develop load lifting plans for heavy lifting operations within COMPANY
operational facilities.
Expert with HSE requirements pertaining to operational oil & gas facility, able to
carry outtask risk assessments and implement mitigation controls for safe
execution of workshop activities.
Should be able to provide component inputs in developing workshop budget and
control the expenses. Shall be able to propose with budget & cost analysis for
workshop facility enhancement.

The ideal candidate should be:


Candidate should be a Mechanical Engineer with minimum experience of 10 years in
the maintenance of an operational oil & gas facility including a minimum of 5 years
in mechanical workshop managing about 50 personnel.
Working knowledge and experience in the areas of fabrication & welding, machine
shop, valves refurbishment, hydro and pneumatic testing, mobile heavy equipment
& vehicles maintenance and managing a tools & consumables store.

Must have valid UAE driving license.
