Akan National Park is located at eastern
Hokkaido. Along with Daisetsuzan National
Park, these are the two oldest national parks in
Hokkaido. The park is well known for its three
beautiful lakes: Lake Akan, Lake Mashu and
Lake Kussharo.
Ainu Kotan is a small Ainu village in
Akankohan, which is a street lined by
souvenir shops specializing in Ainu
handicrafts.

Lake Akan is a beautiful crater lake in Akan
National Park; home to Marimo, a rare algae
species that forms itself into beautiful green
balls. The algae have been designated a
National Special Natural Monument.
Lake Mashu is a caldera lake and it vies for the
position of "clearest lake in the world", and is
considered by many to be Japan's most
beautiful lake. Lake Mashu is also one of the
country's deepest lakes and although it is
usually appreciated for its clear blue water, it
is also famously and frequently blanketed in
heavy fog.

Takinoue Shibazakura Park ~ Shibazakura
is a ground covering plant with pink, white,
and light purple flowers. Takinoue Park in
Takinoue Town has a 100,000 square meter
hill area which is completely covered with
beautiful Shibazakura. Many visitors from all
over Japan & overseas come to enjoy these
picturesque views. (Subject to weather
condition)

Okhotsk Tower ~ the worlds first underwater

drift ice observatory. Other than cliones, you
can see all kinds of sea creatures in their
natural habitat.
Okhotsk Tokkari Centre ~ Seal Protection
centre, where more than 30 seals are kept in
this centre. Lets have a close up views of
these adorable seals.
Mount Kurodake is the most easily accessible
of Daisetsuzan's major peaks. The SounkyoKurodake Ropeway is a magnificent gondola
ride that takes passengers from the Sounkyo
Village to the fifth stage of Mt. Kurodake.
Kurodake ropeway ride is subject to weather
condition.
Sounkyo Gorge is flanked on both sides by
150m high perpendicular cliffs with columnar
joints. We will visit the famous 120 meter
high Milky Way Waterfall and 90-meter high
Shooting Stars Waterfall. These two waterfalls
are the most popular and beautiful among all
the falls.
Sounkyo Hot Spring ~ one of the famous Hot
Springs in Hokkaido surrounded by
picturesque natural landscape. You will enjoy
the indoor and outdoor bath facilities in
Sounkyo hotel.
