regarding this matter of Tafzil.
3.Imam Ahmad Raza Khan quotes another Sufi Chishti-Quadri research
authority of the Indian subcontinent Mir Sayyid Abdul Wahid Husayni
Zaydi Bilgirami from his famous book Saba Sanabil in this Fatwa,
that is, Ghayat ut Tahqiq, the translation of which can be read in the
following pages.
This has been summed up to declare that the noble Sufiya of the
Quadriya and Chishtiya Tariqahs of the Indian subcontinent have long
back clarified and expounded the matter of Tafzil in their respective
books and discourses according to the Doctrine {Aqidah} of Ahl us Sunnah
wal Jamah.
Jamah May Allah Almighty sanctify their states and secrets! Amin!

not Disbelievers {Kafir}, but are actually innovators, astray and misguided.
This legal opinion is only regarding the Tafziliya with the first
characteristic feature mentioned above, while the legal ruling as regards to
other groups of Tafziliya change according to the combination and
intensity of their different doctrines mentioned above!

precedence to Mawla Ali upon these two is an innovator and heretic
and Salah behind such a person is Makruh. Fatawa Khulasa, Fath al-Qadir,
Bahr al-Raiq and Fatawa Alamgiri and many other books have it: Inna
fadla Aliyyan alaihima famubtadi (If someone gives precedence to Ali
over Siddiq and Faruq, he is a Mubtadi). It is in Ghunya and Radd alMuhtar: Salah behind a heretic is Makruh in all cases. It is in Arkan
Arbaa: Salah behind Tafzili Shiya is strongly prohibited. Strongly
prohibited means Makruh Tahrimi; performing it is a sin and it is Wajib to
repeat. And Allah taala knows best.
I am highly great-full and thankful to Mawlana Sayyid Sajjad Quadri
Amiri, the founder of Noori Foundation who has patiently waited for the
translation of this important book and for undertaking the responsibility
its publication from his dynamic organisation. May Allah Almighty reward
him immensely and Bestow upon him and the members of his organisation

Abu Bakr al-Siddiq is the best of men after the Prophets 6. Zayd and

took the bucket from me and drew one or two buckets <of water> and there
was weakness in his drawing the water. May Allah forgive his weakness

you? The Prophet ] said: If you cant find me, then go to Abu Bakr. This
has been narrated by Shaykhayn from Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Mutim .
{Sahih Bukhari, Kitab Fazail Ashab un Nabi; 1:516}
Abu Bakr. The man asked: If I cant find him. The Prophet ] said: To
Umar. The man asked: If I cant find him even. The Prophet ] said: To
Usman. This has been narrated by Imam Abu Nuaym in Hilya and Imam

Then, amongst them, the sequence of merits is such that Sayyiduna Siddiq

numerous evidences and solid proofs in the form of Ayahs of the Holy
Quran, Hadiths of the Beloved Rasul Allah ], explicit sayings of Amir ul
Muminin Sayyiduna Ali Murtaza and other noble Imams of the pure
Ahl ul Bayt, the consensus of the respected Sahaba and great Tabayin, the
explanatory statements of the pious Awliya Allah and Scholars of the
Muslim Ummah on this particular matter such that their summarization is
impossible in these lines. Faqir May Allah Pardon Me, has written a
voluminous book on this matter spanning two great volumes and named it
A.H>.

bin Abdullah Mahaz bin Hasan Musanna bin Hasan Mujtaba bin
Juhayfa said: I took an oath of Allah Almighty that I will not hide this

and Sayyiduna Umar . The Imam turned towards me and said: Look

Then after few lines, he writes:

May Allah keep him in peace, writes in Masar ul Kalam that: In the
Ramazan of 1135 A.H when the writer of these lines went to the Dar ul
related the immense merits of Mir Sahib and narrated that: One night
when I was in Madinah Munawwarah lying on my bed, I dreamt that I
and Sayyid Sibghatullah Baruji are present in a gathering of the Beloved
Prophet ], a large group of Sahaba and other Awliya of the Ummah are
also present. In this gathering is a man towards whom the Prophet ] is
smiling and speaking with bless-full attention. When the gathering ended,
I asked Sayyid Sibghatullah regarding the person to whom the Prophet ]
was speaking with so much bless-full attention. He replied that it was Mir
Abdul Wahid Bilgirami and the reason for his immense respect and bless-
full attention was due to his book Sanabil which has been appreciated
and liked by the Prophet ]! His words end here. This article ends with his

Hazrat Mir has written the matter of Tafzil in great detail with beautiful
Muminin Usman bin Affan , and then Amir ul Muminin Ali bin Abu
clarity in this blessed and accepted book <i.e. Saba Sanabil>. I shall also derive

and all the Scholars of this Ummah have been on this Doctrine
{Aqidah}
Then writes: When the Consensus of the Sahaba, the attributes of whom
resemble that of the Prophets 6 has been reached on the meritoriousness of the Shaykhayn and when this Consensus also includes Sayyiduna
Ali who did not differ with them, then surely, the Tafziliya have
