Position Mission
Historically all risk and control operations were
supported by heads overseeing Risk, Audit, Compliance
and Legal and never through a controlled/shared services
model. This newly created role will have the mission of
creating a new management architecture that shifts the
old paradigm to operate under a central executive role
that has more of a proactive approach for managing risk,
controls and compliance.

Responsibilities

Establish and execute the oversight, policies,

operational procedures and supervisory controls
for the Brokerage Operations/TD Ameritrade
Clearing (TDAC) organization. Critical to the
function is coordination with key Risk Organization
and Finance liaisons including, but not limited to:
Compliance, Legal, Risk, Treasury, Internal and
External Audit.

Will serve as an evangelist who is responsible for

promoting a culture of proactive process
management evolution in order to reduce the risk
profile of TDAC while shifting the focus for risk and
control from functional managers to a new shared
services leader.

Will lead a comprehensive review of all trading

channels to assess current risk and controls while

implementing improvement.

Enforce company policies to ensure compliance

with all regulatory agencies.

Develop key risk indicators and programs designed

to improve the Risk Mitigation practices for
Brokerage Operations/Clearing by increasing
awareness, quantifying risk exposures and testing
the defined controls across the Institutional
component of the company.

Set goals and drive alignment strategies while

influencing full leadership participation that
ensures full compliance with all regulatory
agencies.

Stay abreast of industry best practices.

10 to 15 years experience ideally in the brokerage

sector. However, will consider candidates from
other industries that deal with government
compliance issues such as insurance,
banking/financial services, and consulting firms
(the Big Four).

7 to 10 years of proven leadership/management

experience.

Operations, service, sales and compliance

exposure.

Must have the ability and desire to lead change

among a diverse range of functional management,
yet possess a respectful view regarding the
opinions of others.

Ego under control with an ability to listen/learn

from others.
