Introduction
An input device for a computer allows you to enter information. The most fundamental
pieces of information are keystrokes on a keyboard and clicks with a mouse. These two
input devices are essential for you to interact with your computer. Many other input
devices exist for entering other types of information, such as images, audio and video.
Input devices represent one type of computer peripheral the other two types are output
devices and storage devices.
Following are the latest input devices which are being used are will be used in upcoming
days.
1. Touch Screen: An contact screen may be an extraordinary sort of
screen device, which will
be put on the workstation screen so as will permit the regulate
determination alternately actuation of the computers information,
when someone touches the screen. Essentially, it registers the enter

screen will be regularly used to touch the screen. Touch screen is
typically used to right those majority of the data for base exert.
However, it will be not suitableness to enter for huge amount about
information. Typically, they are utilized within information-providing
frameworks such as the hospital, airlines, track reservation counters, diversion parks, and so
on.
2. Optical Character Recognition is a process of scanning printed pages as image on a
flatbed scanner using OCR software which
recognizes the letters as ASCII text. The device
used for this technology is called optical reader.
In the OCR system book or a magazine article
is fed directly into an electronic computer file,
and then this file is edited by using a word
processor. Advanced OCR systems can read the
text large variety of fonts.

3. Optical Mark Recognition is the process of recognizing a pre-specified type of marks

made by pencils or pen on the paper. This type of technology is used to evaluate the papers
of
competitive examination. Optical mark reading is done by
special device called optical mark reader.

4. Magnetic-Ink Character Recognition technology is used by the banking industry for

faster processing of the large
volume of cheques. This
technology also ensures accuracy
of
data entry, because most of the
information is pre-printed on the
cheque and is directly fed to the
computer.

5.

Virtual Reality or VR is a computer generated artificial environment that allows a user to

view, explore, and manipulate the environment. Virtual Reality is a computer generated
reality manipulated and explored using various input devices such as goggles, headphones,
gloves, or a
computer. Using these devices a user can
browse
throughout a virtual world or pickup and
manipulate virtual objects.

6.

Biometrics is the identification of a person by the measurement of their biological

features. For example, a user identifying themselves to a computer
or
building by their finger print or voice is considered a biometrics
identification. When compared to a password, this type of system
is
much more difficult to fake since it is unique to the person.
Below is a listing of all known biometric devices.

7.

Stylus: A pen-shaped instrument used with graphics tablets or touch screen input devices
to write or draw on the computer screen, similar to a
sheet of paper. Unlike a pen the Stylus has a simple
plastic tip and is often smaller to help fit in a
compartment on the device.

8.

Yoke is a hardware input device used with computer games, such as flight simulation
games, that allow a player to fly up or down, or back or forth by
pulling or pushing the device.

9.

Braille display is a device, typically

keyboard that allows a blind person to read
a display one text line at a time in the form
a line of Braille characters. Each Braille
character consists of six or eight movable
pins in a rectangular array. The pins can rise and fall
depending on the electrical signals they receive.

10. The Ring is a wearable input device that brings finger-tracking down to the single-digit
level. When paired via Bluetooth with your smartphone or smart watch or even your
networked appliances, the Ring allows you to create shortcut commands for various tasks,
which you execute with a wiggle of your finger.
