A. Analysis of Experiment
1. Topic
The Blind Spot
2. Problem of Experiment
How does distance blind spot towards clarity symbol
3.

Objective of Experiment
Knowing the blind spot distance of our eyes

4.

Hypothesis
There is an influent between distance and symbols clarity.

5.

Variable
a. Defenition
Variable is anything that becomes the object of observation or as the
factors that play a role in the events that will be observed.
b. Independent Variable
Distance
c. Dependent Variable
The clarity of symbol

6. Variables Defenition
a. Distance
An amount of space between two things or people.
b. Symbol
A thing that represents or stands for something else, especially a material
object representing something abstract.
In this experiment symbol means cross sign with black colour and dot
sign with round shape and black colour too
c. Clarity
The quality of being clear, in particular ( Focus )

B. Main Topics Defenition

Blind spot is a small area on the retina that is insensitive to light due to the
interruption, where the optic nerve joins the retina, of the normal pattern of lightsensitive rods and cones. An area on the retina of the eye which is the nerve pathways
of vision to the brain.
The spot where your optic nerve connects to your retina is called the optic
disc. There are no photoreceptor cells on this disc, so when an image hits that part of
your retina, you can't see it. This is your blind spot
C. Blind Spot Experiment
1.

First Experiment
a. Close your left eye.
b. Hold this page about 60 cm away from your face.

c. Concentrate on the cross with the right eye and slowly bring the page closer to
the face, still concentrating on the cross.
d. Repeat the experiment with the page held sideways so that the dot is above the
cross; and also with the page upside down with the dot on the left of the cross.
e. Describe what you see in each case and explain it as far as possible.
2. Second Experiment
a. Close the left eye and hold the page at arm's length.

b.

With the right eye, concentrate on the cross and bring the page slowly nearer
your face. At first, the short line on the right will disappear because its image
falls on the blind spot.

c. When the short line reappears, the image of the gap will be on the blind spot.
Describe what you see at this point.
D. Manipulated Variables
Change the colour and location of symbols
1. Experiment
a. Close your left eye.
b. Hold this page about 60 cm away from your face.

f. Concentrate on the cross with the right eye and slowly bring the page closer to
the face, still concentrating on the cross.
g. The cirle ( pink colour ) will disappear slowly and several time later, the pink
colour will disappear completely.
h. Describe what you see in each case and explain it as far as possible.
