DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES OF LAW OFFICER

1.

Over all in charge of the Legal matters of the entire Corporation

of Chennai.

2.

To assist the Commissioner, in all matters concerning Legal

matters.

3.

Watch the performance of Standing Counsels of the Corporation

of Chennai in preparation of Counter Affidavit, Written
Statement, Writ Appeals, Vacate Stay Petition etc.,

4.

Coordinate with the all Heads of Departments and all Zonal

Officers with regard to Legal matters.

5.

To attend the Court and to liaison with Standing Counsels,

Government Pleaders and Coordinate with Advocate General of
Tamil Nadu, Addl. Advocate General for Sensitive Cases of
Corporation of Chennai.

6.

Scrutinize the Parawar Remarks, Counter Affidavits and Affidavits

filed by the Corporation of Chennai, etc.,

7.

Offering Legal Opinions to the Head of Departments and Zonal

Officers in respect of the Legal Matters.

8.

Public Information Officer for Right To Information Act in the

Legal Cell.
