Position Title : Engineer - Materials Engineering & Technology
Experience: 10+ years of experience
Plans and performs independent work within a Global Business Unit requiring judgment
in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques,
procedures and criteria. Broad working knowledge of precedents in the specialty area
as well as in the industry, the role requires extensive coordination within the project
team as well as other offices.
Job responsibilities include:
- Establish metallurgical requirements for refinery equipment and piping
- Perform corrosion assessments
- Develop material selection philosophies, reports and materials selection diagrams
- Development of technical specifications for metallic materials and corrosion control
- Support to disciplines in preparation of requisition packages
- Review of metallurgical content of technical bids
- Post award technical support including vendor print review, resolving MET-related
queries with vendors
- Support to construction
Specific capabilities required for the role include:
- Sound knowledge of refinery material damage mechanisms
- Knowledge of major National and International codes and standards like ASME, API,
NACE, ASTM, IS etc.
- Knowledge in two or more in the following areas
- Corrosion control
- Painting and coating

- Thermal insulation
- Nondestructive examination
- Welding
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical or Materials Engineering from a reputed
college or university. A Master's degree in Material Science / Metallurgy is preferred.
Skilled in oral and written communication and proficient in computer word processing,
spreadsheet and database applications.
