Jumaa Prayer

for the Muslims of Africa and beyond

West Africa Advanced School of Theology

February 26, 2016

Intercede for the Muslim World!

Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God (1 Jn 5:5, NIV).

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries

BENIN: An alumna here has established a Jumaa Prayer group in the church she and her husband pastor. Among the
30+ participants, she says, there are children who have joined us and are committed to the cause. Because of Jumaa
Prayer, some young people have committed themselves to evangelizing Muslims. Pray that the Lord would guide
each one in this divine calling.
CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC: We prayed recently for peaceful elections in CAR, which has had a transitional
government since Muslim rebels overthrew the president in 2013. A new president has been announced and the
opposition candidate has peacefully conceded. Pray for healing in this land as religious tensions continue. Pray for an
Acts 1:8 conference to be held in Bangui, the capital, next month to challenge pastors and believers to be baptized in
and empowered by the Holy Spirit. God wants to use them to bring many to Him!

In the News
Earlier this month, Algeria's Parliament passed several amendments to the constitution, including guaranteeing the
right to practice one's faith and giving official status to Tamazight, the language of the Berber people. Most of the
believers in Algeria's growing churches are Berber. Pray that reforms would be enacted quickly, allowing freedom to
witness to others in this 99%-Muslim nation, and to distribute more Bibles to meet the great demand. A presidential
decree stating it is illegal to shake the faith of a Muslim overrides the Constitution and still stands. Pray that God
would work a change in the heart of the president, for his own salvation and for the sake of all who need to hear.

2016 World Watch List: Kenya

Despite the fact that less than 15% of its population is Muslim, Kenya is suffering the effects of Islamic extremism. As
attacks by al-Shabaab and other groups increase, with Christians as a main target, Kenya has moved up to 16 th place
on the World Watch List, from 43 rd place two years ago. Intercede for pastors and churches there, that they may be a
strong and effective witness in their communities. Pray that Jesus in His mercy would reveal himself to those who
persecute His Church. For more information and prayer points, see http://bit.ly/1Q93paF.

From Global Initiative*.

Pray for the growing number of Muslims coming to faith in Morocco. 99% of Moroccos 33 million people are
Muslims. Despite the dangers, many Muslim-background believers are quietly bold in their witness. Pray that the
Holy Spirit will increasingly strengthen their faith, give them wisdom as they share it, and prepare hearts to hear their
message. For more about the challenges these believers face, see http://bit.ly/1WNXvgC.

For Muslim Women**

Pray for S. as she shares Jesus' love with her Muslim friend who has experienced a mid-term miscarriage. May this
mother find peace and assurance of eternity as she faces grief and the questions that arise.
